Okay, so I saw this thing online about John Wall’s 40-yard dash time and got curious. I mean, the guy is known for being blazing fast, so I wanted to see if I could even come close. Spoiler alert: I couldn’t. But, it was still a fun little experiment.

Getting Started
First, I needed to find a place to actually run. My backyard is definitely not 40 yards, so I headed to a local park that has a big, open field. Luckily, it wasn’t too crowded.
The Setup
- I used my phone, and found an app with simple timer function.
- Then I used that app to mark my start and stop point.
- Before Start, I did the preparation of warm-up exercises.
My Attempts (and Failures)
My first run felt… slow. I’m no athlete, that’s for sure. I sprinted as hard as I could, but I could feel myself tiring out pretty quickly. I glanced at my timer – way off Wall’s reported time. I won’t even embarrass myself by sharing my actual number.
I took a few minutes to catch my breath and tried again. Same result. And again. Same. It was clear that professional athletes are on a whole different level. I mean, I knew that, but actually experiencing the difference in speed was humbling.
The Takeaway
Even though I didn’t magically transform into an NBA-level speedster, it was still a good workout. I got some fresh air, got my heart rate up, and had a bit of fun. Plus, it gave me a newfound appreciation for just how incredibly fast these guys like John Wall are. I’ll stick to watching them on TV, though.
