Okay, so I’ve been messing around with this crossword puzzle thing lately. It’s called “Giveaway Crossword” and, honestly, it’s been a pretty fun way to kill some time. I wanted to share my whole process of dealing with it, from the very beginning to now.
At first, I just stumbled upon it. I think it was on one of those crossword puzzle websites, I don’t even remember which one. I saw “Giveaway Crossword” and I thought, “What the heck is that?” So I gave it a shot. The first few puzzles were simple, you know, like those really easy ones you can finish in a few minutes. I got the hang of it pretty quickly.
I started doing these crosswords every day. It became a part of my daily routine. Wake up, make some coffee, do the “Giveaway Crossword” and then get on with my day. I even started tracking my times, trying to beat my own records. Pretty silly, I know, but it was fun.
Then, things got a little more serious. I mean, not really serious, but I started looking up tips and tricks online. There’s a whole community of crossword folks out there, sharing their strategies and stuff. I found out some of these people participate in many crossword puzzles, and “Giveaway Crossword” is just one of them. I even found some forums where people were discussing the “Giveaway Crossword” puzzles from specific dates. Like, I saw one thread talking about a clue from January 14, 2023, and another one about a clue from May 8. People were trying to figure out the answers together, it was pretty cool.
- Started noticing patterns: After a while, I started noticing certain patterns in the “Giveaway Crossword” puzzles. Some clues kept popping up, like “FREEBIE” seemed to be a common answer. I saw somewhere online that this clue had been used at least 3 times in different puzzles.
- Got stuck sometimes: Of course, I got stuck sometimes. There was this one clue, “Giveaway” with 7 letters, that showed up in the Metro on November 21, and I just couldn’t get it. I spent hours on it, but no luck.
- Found online tools: Eventually, I found some online tools where you can type in the clue, and it gives you possible answers. It’s like a crossword solver or something. You can even sort the answers by length or relevance, which is super helpful.
- Discovered more clues: I also found out that there were other versions of the “Giveaway” clue. Like, there was one that said “Game giveaway” and people were saying it appeared in the New York Times puzzle. Apparently, there are like 40 possible answers for that one.
So yeah, that’s pretty much my journey with this “Giveaway Crossword” thing. It started as a simple little game, and then I got way more into it than I expected. I even ended up using those online solver tools, which felt a bit like cheating, but hey, it’s all in good fun, right?
I’m still doing these crosswords, although maybe not as obsessively as before. It’s still a fun way to challenge myself and keep my brain busy. And who knows, maybe I’ll even try some other crossword puzzles. But for now, “Giveaway Crossword” is my go-to.
