Okay, so, I was trying to get some sweet skins through the Overwatch 2 Twitch drops. You know how it is, you want your heroes looking fresh. I went ahead and linked my * account to Twitch, like they said. I made sure both accounts were properly connected, double-checked everything.
Then, I started watching streams. I watched for hours, as many as they asked for to get the drops. I kept an eye on the progress on Twitch, and yep, I got them all. I saw the notifications saying I earned the drops, and they appeared in my Twitch inventory. I was feeling good, you know, like I accomplished something.
I jumped into Overwatch 2, excited to see my new skins. I went to the hero gallery, started looking around, but… nothing. The skins weren’t there. I was like, “What the heck?” I checked every hero, even the ones I don’t usually play, just in case. Still nothing.
I went back to Twitch, checked my inventory again. The drops were still there, all claimed and everything. I even saw a “Claim” button, so I clicked it, even though I already claimed them. Then, I looked around for a refresh button on the Overwatch page, as some folks online suggested, but I couldn’t find anything like that.
I also found some advice to disconnect and reconnect my * account from Twitch. I tried that too. I went into settings, disconnected my account, then went back to my Twitch inventory, found the Overwatch 2 section, and reconnected. I thought, “Maybe this will do the trick.”
I restarted the game, fingers crossed. Went back to the hero gallery… still no new skins. It was frustrating. I even tried launching the game through the Xbox app, then closing it and opening it again through the * launcher, because I read something about that, but still no luck. The skins were just gone like they had been taken out of the game.
- Linked accounts: * and Twitch accounts were correctly linked.
- Watched streams: Watched the required hours of streams.
- Earned drops: Received notifications and saw drops in Twitch inventory.
- Claimed drops: Clicked the “Claim” button in Twitch inventory.
- Checked in-game: Skins were not showing up in Overwatch 2.
- Disconnected/Reconnected: Tried disconnecting and reconnecting * account on Twitch.
- Restarted game: Restarted the game multiple times.
I’ve waited for quite some time now, and still nothing. I even heard that if the skins don’t show up by the time the event ends, you should take screenshots of your claimed drops on Twitch and the missing skins in the game. I guess that’s my next move, but I’m not feeling very optimistic. The worst thing is I spent all that time on the live stream but I didn’t get anything.
It’s a bummer, really. I followed all the steps, did everything right, but still didn’t get the skins. It feels like a waste of time, to be honest. I was really looking forward to those skins, too. Hopefully, Blizzard fixes this issue, because it’s clearly affecting a lot of people.
