Hey everyone, I want to share my little journey about figuring out who this Royce Clayton Jr. guy is. You know how it is, you stumble upon a name and suddenly you’re down a rabbit hole, piecing together bits of info. That’s what happened to me!
So, first off, I got curious about this kid’s background. Turns out, he’s got some baseball roots, you know? Like, his dad, Royce Clayton Sr., was a big deal in the Major Leagues. It’s always cool to see how these legacies get passed down, right?
- I found out the kid played for Los Angeles Valley College.
- Then, he moved on to California State University, CSUN, playing in center field, just like his dad. You can’t help but wonder if he felt any pressure to follow in those footsteps, you know?
But here’s where it gets interesting: I started digging into his coaching side. Apparently, he spent time coaching at Malibu Little League. Imagine having a coach whose dad was a pro! That must have been awesome for those kids.
From Player to Coach
After that, I discovered he became the head varsity baseball coach at Oaks Christian School in 2016. That’s a pretty big step, going from playing to leading a whole team. I bet he had some stories to share with those high school players, maybe even some tips from his dad.
And it turns out, this guy has a family of his own now. I read somewhere that he and his wife, Samantha Davies, have a son. It’s funny how life goes full circle. I can just picture him teaching his own kid how to play, passing down the family tradition.
What’s really interesting is, he played in a post season for Oaks Christian school and loss to Newport Harbor, but told the media the Lions will come back, it’s interesting!
There was even something about him being part of the MLB Draft League. His height is 5’9″ and weight is 170lbs. His dad and two sons seem all love baseball! It looks like he’s still chasing his own dreams in the baseball world. It’s cool to see someone so connected to the sport, both from a family perspective and his own career path.
Anyway, that’s the gist of what I found out about Royce Clayton Jr. It wasn’t some deep dive, just a bit of casual browsing. But it’s always fascinating to learn about someone’s story, especially when it involves sports and family, right? It makes you think about your own family’s stories, too.
