Okay, so I saw this thing online about Derek Carr’s eyeliner, and I was like, “What? The Raiders quarterback wears eyeliner?” I had to check it out.
First, I googled some images. Seriously, just tons of pictures of him. And yeah, in a lot of them, it looks like he’s got some serious liner going on. It’s not super obvious, but it’s there. Mostly on his lower lash line, making his eyes pop.
My “Experiment”
I’m no makeup expert, but I figured, why not try it myself? I’m always up for looking a little more… intense. I grabbed my wife’s makeup bag. I’m pretty sure she had a few eyeliners.
- Step 1: Find the Eyeliner. Rummaged through the bag. Found a black pencil liner, a liquid one, and some weird gel thing. Sticking with the pencil – seemed the easiest.
- Step 2: Application Time. Okay, this was harder than it looked. I poked myself in the eye like three times. I tried to just do the bottom lash line, like Carr. It ended up kinda smudgy, not gonna lie.
- Step 3: The “Smudge” Factor. My wife told me to maybe smudge it a little. So I did. Used my finger. It looked… better? Less like I’d just been punched in the face.
- Step 4: The Verdict. I looked in the mirror. Did I look like a fierce NFL quarterback? Not really. Did I look like I’d maybe been crying a little? Possibly.
So, my Derek Carr eyeliner experiment was… a mixed bag. I see why he does it, though. It definitely makes your eyes stand out. But I think it takes some practice. Or maybe just a steadier hand than mine. I’m probably not gonna wear it to the grocery store, that’s for sure, I’m not a tough football player.I cleaned up everything.
