Okay, so I’ve been hitting the gym like crazy lately, trying to get that CM Punk physique. You know, ripped, defined, the whole nine yards. It’s been a real grind, let me tell you.
Starting Out
First, I figured I had to change up my whole routine. No more of that random, whatever-I-feel-like lifting. I needed a plan, man. So, I started digging around, looking at what kind of workouts Punk probably did.
I focused on a basic full-body routine to start with, just to get my body used to a constant workload. That means 3 days on and one day off for recovery, then repeat.
The Grind
- Day 1: I hammered chest and triceps. Bench press, incline dumbbell press, some flyes, you get the idea. Then, close-grip bench, skullcrushers… my triceps were screaming by the end.
- Day 2: It was all about back and biceps. Pull-ups are a killer, but so worth it. Rows, deadlifts to really work that back. Then, the usual bicep curls, hammer curls, concentration curls. Gotta get that pump.
- Day 3: Legs and shoulders, my dudes. Squats, leg press, lunges, you name it, I did it. This is my most tiring session, I guess it’s due to the fact that leg muscles are the largest muscle group in our body. I finished up with some shoulder work. Overhead press, lateral raises, all that good stuff.
Every other day I did some cardio as well, not too much because I don’t want to lost my muscle mass, just keep a balance between being fit and being big is what I want. Mostly I ran for 30 minutes at a moderate pace.
Fueling the Machine
Then there’s the food. Man, I had to really clean up my diet. More protein, fewer carbs, lots of veggies. I’m talking chicken breast, fish, eggs, all day long. I started tracking my macros too, which was a pain, but it helped me see where I needed to adjust.
To support my muscle growth I took some protein powder twice a day. One scoop in the morning before the workout and one scoop after the workout. I also took some creatine monohydrate before the training, which helped a lot with power and strength.
Keeping It Real
It’s tough, I won’t lie. Some days, I’m sore as hell, and I just want to crash on the couch. But I kept pushing. I kept picturing that CM Punk look, and it kept me motivated. I also found a workout buddy, it helped a lot with motivating each other.
Seeing Results
And you know what? It’s starting to pay off. After a few months, I can see the changes. My muscles are getting bigger, more defined. I’m stronger than I’ve ever been. I keep adjusting my routine and my diet, that’s very important, because our bodies will get used to it, we need to keep challenging it.
I’m not quite at that CM Punk level yet, but I’m getting there. It’s a journey, not a sprint, right? I’ll keep at it, keep grinding, and keep you all updated on my progress. Stay tuned, folks! It’s gonna be a wild ride!
