Okay, so I’ve been hyped for the Shadow of the Erdtree DLC for Elden Ring, like everyone else. I finally decided to bite the bullet and pre-order it, but then I hit a snag: Standard Edition or Premium Bundle? What’s a gamer to do?
First, I checked the prices. You know, gotta make sure I’m not throwing money away. The Standard Edition was cheaper, obviously, but the Premium Bundle had some extra goodies.
Breaking It Down
So, I started digging into what the Premium Bundle actually offered. Here’s what I found:
- The Shadow of the Erdtree DLC, of course.
- A digital artbook.
- The digital soundtrack.
- A bonus gesture.
I paused for a moment. The artbook and soundtrack sounded cool, but were they really worth the extra cash? I’m a sucker for game art, I admit. The soundtrack… well, Elden Ring’s music is amazing, so that was tempting too.
Next, I weighed my options. Could I live without the artbook and soundtrack? Probably. Would I want to? Hmm, that’s a tougher question. The bonus gesture is very cool!
I decided to do a bit more “research” (aka watching YouTube videos of people showing off the artbook). I found a few sneak peeks, and… yeah, it looked pretty awesome. Lots of cool concept art and creature designs. My resolve started to crumble.
My Final Choice (and Why)
After a lot of internal debate, I went with the Premium Bundle. I know, I know, I’m weak. But here’s my reasoning:
I’m a huge Elden Ring fan. I’ve sunk hundreds of hours into the game, and I know I’ll be playing the DLC for a long time too. I figured the extra cost was worth it for the complete experience. Plus, I wanted to support the developers. They made an incredible game, and I’m happy to throw a little extra their way.
So, that’s my story. Did I make the right choice? Only time will tell. But I’m excited to dive into the DLC with all the extra goodies, so for me, it was worth it.
