Okay, so I’ve been getting tons of questions about my fantasy football lineup, specifically at quarterback. It’s crunch time, playoffs are looming, and everyone’s scrambling. The big dilemma for a lot of folks, including me, has been: Jordan Love or Baker Mayfield?
I started the season with, well, let’s just say not-so-great quarterback options. I think I drafted, like, two backups and hoped for the best. Didn’t work out.
So, I hit the waiver wire hard. I scoured every matchup, every injury report, every single piece of news I could find. I was living on those fantasy football advice sites. I think I refreshed the page like a million times a day.
The Case For Baker
I grabbed Baker Mayfield first. He was a free agent, surprisingly, and had some okay matchups coming up. Honestly, it felt like a total crapshoot. The Bucs offense was inconsistent, but he had Mike Evans, and that was something, right? I plugged him in for a couple of weeks. Some good games, some absolute stinkers. He gave consistent points.

Then, Jordan Love started heating up. I watched a few Packers games and was like, “Whoa, this guy is actually… good?” The whole narrative was that the Packers were done, Love was a bust. But he was slinging it! The connection with those young receivers was clicking. So, naturally, I snatched him up off the waiver wire too. Classic me, hoarding quarterbacks.

The Final Verdict (For Now)
After weeks of back-and-forth, late-night stat analysis, and probably way too much stress, I’ve mostly settled on Jordan Love. He’s just been more consistent lately. The Packers offense looks legit, and he’s got that rushing upside, which is huge in fantasy. The recent games were excellent.
But… and this is a big BUT… I’m still keeping Baker on my bench. You never know what can happen in the NFL. Injuries, bad matchups, random benchings… anything is possible. So, Baker is my safety net. My “break glass in case of emergency” quarterback. And to be fair, the right matchup, and Baker have a high ceiling.
So, that’s my saga. It’s been a wild ride, and it’s probably not over yet. Fantasy football, man. It’ll drive you crazy, but we love it, right?
