Alright, listen up, y’all. We gotta figure out this football mess, this… uh… Jared Goff and Anthony Richardson thing. My grandson, he’s all into this fantasy football stuff, and he’s always pesterin’ me about who to pick. Says it’s important, like life or death, ha! Boys these days.
So, lemme tell ya what I’ve gathered, listenin’ to that TV blabberin’ and my grandson yellin’. Sounds like this Goff fella, he’s been playin’ alright for a while now, specially when he’s at home. That’s important, you know, bein’ comfortable in your own place. Like me in my kitchen, I make the best darn biscuits there. Anyway, this Goff, he’s got his buddies he throws the ball to, and if that young whippersnapper Jameson Williams is any good, then Goff’s gonna be even better. Only problem is, this Goff, he don’t run much. Stands there like a statue, my grandson says. Kinda like my old rooster, bless his heart, he just strutted around.
Now, this Richardson fella, he’s a different story. He’s young, like a colt just outta the pasture, all jumpy and full of energy. People, they’re draftin’ him in their fantasy teams, whatever that means. My grandson says he’s got potential, a big arm, and can run like the wind. But, and this is a big but, he’s young, see? Young folks make mistakes. They get all excited and throw the ball where they shouldn’t. Like that time my nephew tried to drive the tractor before he was ready, ended up in the ditch, he did.
So, who do you pick? That’s the million-dollar question, ain’t it? It’s like choosin’ between a sturdy old mule and a wild young horse. The mule, that’s Goff, he’ll get you there, steady and sure. Might not be fancy, but he’ll get the job done. The horse, that’s Richardson, he could be amazing, win you the whole darn thing. Or he could buck you off and leave you in the dust.
- Goff, he’s got experience. Been around the block, knows the ropes.
- Richardson, he’s got potential. Could be a star, but also could be a flop.
- Goff’s got his crew, the fellas he throws to. They help him out.
- Richardson, he can run. That’s a big deal, apparently.
My grandson, he’s always lookin’ at these “stats,” whatever those are. Numbers and such. Says it helps him decide. He’s got this thing on his phone, tells him who to start each week. I tell ya, these youngsters and their gadgets. Back in my day, we just watched the game and cheered for whoever was wearin’ the right colors.
This fantasy football thing, it’s all a gamble, you ask me. Like plantin’ crops, you never know what you’re gonna get. One year, you got a bumper harvest, the next, a drought. Same with these football players. One week, they’re heroes, the next, they’re… well, they ain’t heroes.
So, here’s what I think, and mind you, I ain’t no expert. If you want safe, go with Goff. He’s reliable, like an old pickup truck. If you’re feelin’ lucky, go with Richardson. He could be a goldmine, or he could be a bust. It’s your call, your gamble. Just like life, ain’t it? You make your choices, and you live with the consequences. Now, if you’ll excuse me, I gotta go make some supper. All this talk about football’s made me hungry.
And one more thing, don’t go bettin’ the farm on either of ’em. Just have fun with it, that’s what my grandson tells me, when he ain’t too busy yellin’ at the TV.
