Okay, here’s my blog post about my “Eric Metcalf” experiment:

So, I’ve been seeing this name, Eric Metcalf, pop up all over the place. Especially when I’m digging into old-school NFL stuff. I figured, who is this guy? Time for a little deep dive, and I’m bringing you all along for the ride.
Step 1: The Basic Search
First things first, I fired up my search engine. Just typed in “Eric Metcalf,” plain and simple. You know, the usual starting point. The goal here was just to get the basic facts. Who was he? What position did he play? What years was he active?
- Name popped up, obviously.
- Okay, he was a running back and return specialist. Interesting.
- Played for a bunch of teams – Browns, Falcons, Chargers, Cardinals, Panthers, Washington, and Packers. Wow, this guy got around!
- Active from 1989 to 2002. That’s a long career!
Step 2: Image is King!
Then I switched over to images. Always helps to put a face to the name, right? Plus, you can often get a quick sense of a player’s style from photos.
I saw that guy was not the biggest, he was speedy and shifty!
Step 3: Finding The Highlights
I find some old highlight reels. That is great, it can be helpful!
I saw some old matches and great video of the matches.

Step 4: Looking at Stats
Then, I jumped into some stats. It can be very important!
I think that is all, what a great journey!
So that was my little Eric Metcalf research project. Nothing groundbreaking, but I definitely know a lot more about him now than I did this morning. It’s always fun to just follow your curiosity and see where it leads you. Maybe I’ll do another one of these soon!
