This here Drew Brees, his hair, it’s a thing, ain’t it? Used to be, you saw him on the TV, throwin’ that football, he had a good head of hair. Now, folks talk. They always do. They say his hairline is movin’ back. Well, what you gonna do? Time marches on, for all of us.
You see these young fellas, all full of themselves, runnin’ around. They got all their hair. Think they’re somethin’ special. But it happens, I tell ya. This Drew Brees hairline thing, it’s just life. Just plain ol’ life.
- Hair today, gone tomorrow.
- That’s what my mama used to say.
- Smart woman, she was.
Now, I ain’t sayin’ nothin’ bad ’bout Drew. He’s a good boy. Throws that ball real good. But that hairline, it’s goin’ north, like them geese in the fall. You just gotta look close, and ya see it. He maybe try to comb it over, or something. I don’t know about those things. I just see what I see. Ain’t nothin’ wrong with it. Happens to the best of ’em.
My old man, bless his soul, he started losin’ his hair when he was young. Younger than Drew, even. By the time he was, oh, I reckon, Drew’s age, he was shinin’ up there like a new penny. Didn’t bother him none. He said, “More room for brains!” He was a card, that one. So this whole Drew Brees hairline thing, it ain’t nothin’ new.
Some folks, they get all worried about it. They buy them special shampoos and such. Waste of money, if you ask me. If it’s gonna go, it’s gonna go. Nothin’ you can do. Just like the weather. You can’t tell the rain not to fall, can ya? No sir. Same with the hair. Drew Brees hairline is just like the weather. Unpredictable, that’s what it is.
This Davis boy, I read something about him. He’s young, got a whole life ahead of him. Probably got a full head of hair. He ain’t worried about no hairline. He’s playing that baseball, living his dream. Good for him. But time, it catches up. It will happen to him, too. Just like with Drew. It is part of life.
- Just gotta accept it.
- Ain’t nothin’ to be ashamed of.
- We all get old.
They say scarcity is a thing. Means not enough of somethin’. Maybe that’s what’s happenin’ with Drew’s hair. Not enough to go around anymore. Happens with everything, I guess. Even a man’s hair. This Drew Brees hairline, it’s just proof of that, ain’t it? Just somethin’ gettin’ used up, like the last of the preserves in the jar.
And them nurses, they know all about this kinda stuff. They see everything. They probably got a name for it. Some fancy word. We just call it gettin’ old. They got their rules and their books. Informed consent, they call it. Means you gotta know what’s goin’ on. Well, I reckon Drew knows his hairline is changin’. He can see it in the mirror, same as anyone else.
I saw somethin’ about ski clothes. What’s that gotta do with hair? Nothin’, I say. Unless you’re tryin’ to cover it up with a hat. Maybe that’s what Drew’s gonna do. Wear a hat all the time. Keep that hairline out of sight. Wouldn’t blame him if he did. People can be cruel. They see a little somethin’ different, and they gotta talk. Like them old hens clucking in the coop, gossiping about everything.
This other thing, empathy, that’s when you feel for someone else. Like when your neighbor’s cow gets sick, you feel bad for ’em. Maybe we should have some empathy for Drew and his hairline. It ain’t easy gettin’ older. Everyone’s watchin’ ya, especially when you’re on the TV. They’re lookin’ for any little change. Any little sign that you ain’t as young as you used to be.
It is just something that happens. Like wrinkles. Or your bones gettin’ creaky. You just live with it. It ain’t the end of the world. Drew, he’s still gonna throw that football. Hairline or no hairline. He’s still gonna be out there, doin’ his thing. And that’s all that matters, ain’t it?
Some people are more feminine, and some are more masculine. That has nothing to do with Drew Brees and his hairline. He is a good football player. That’s what he is. Nothing else.
So, this whole thing about Drew Brees’ hair, it’s just a lot of talk about nothin’, if you ask me. Just folks with nothin’ better to do than gossip. He’s a good man, a good football player. And that’s all we need to know. His hairline ain’t nobody’s business but his own.
