Well, let me tell you somethin’ about this golf thing. See, they got these big shots, these fellas that win all the big games. They call ’em majors, like it’s some kinda army rank or somethin’. It’s a big deal, I reckon. These guys are like the top dogs in that game.
Now, this fella, Jack somethin’. Nicklaus, they say he’s got the most majors. Eighteen, I hear! That’s a whole lotta winnin’. He musta been swingin’ that club since he was knee-high to a grasshopper. Eighteen! Can you believe it? That’s more than my grandkids, and I got a whole mess of ’em.
Then there’s another one, Tiger somethin’. Tiger Woods, yeah, that’s it. He’s got fifteen, they say. Not as many as that Jack fella, but still a whole heap. Fifteen majors! He won one not too long ago, they say. At the Masters, I hear. Now I don’t know what that means, but it sounds fancy.
They got four of these big golf games, these majors. Four! Every year! They call one the Masters Tournament. Sounds like somethin’ out of a movie. Then there’s the US Open. Open to who, I wonder? And then the Open Championship. Don’t they all have championships? Then the last one, the PGA Championship. Lots of championships in this golf, I tell ya.

Now, I heard some other names too. Walter somethin’, Ben Hogan. Another fella name Gary. They say these fellas are good too. Real good. They all got a bunch of these majors, just like Jack and Tiger. It’s like collectin’ those little porcelain dolls my neighbor used to have, ‘cept these are big golf wins. I never understood collectin’ them dolls.
This golf, it’s a funny thing. They hit that little ball, and they chase it around. And they get all excited when they get it in that little hole. I seen ’em on the TV, yellin’ and hollerin’. And they wear those funny pants. All them colors, Lord have mercy. And they got those special shoes. It’s a whole thing, this golf.
They talk about Tiger, how he played at the Masters. Like he was some kinda superhero. And some other guy, Phil somethin’, at the British Open. They say he did some kinda special shot. I don’t know about all that. I just know they hit that ball real far, and they get paid a lot of money to do it. They really love these majors in golf.
So these fellas, Jack and Tiger, and all the rest. They’re the best at this golf thing. They got the most majors. That’s what they say, anyway. I guess if you’re gonna hit a little ball around, might as well be the best at it. That’s all I know about this major thing.
Majors in golf seem really important. They say these five are the best at winning them. Five of them. They call it being a champion. The greatest, even. I don’t understand it all. It’s like they all try to be king of the hill or somethin’. The best at hitting that little ball. There are five guys, the top guys who win these majors.
So, you see, these majors are a big deal in golf. They’re like the biggest prize you can get. And these fellas, they’re all tryin’ to get the most of ’em. It’s all a bit silly to me, but hey, to each their own. I reckon if you’re gonna do somethin’, you might as well be the best at it, even if it is just hittin’ a little white ball around a big field.
That’s all I got to say about that. These golf fellas and their majors. It’s a whole world I don’t rightly understand, but I hear about it all the time. They must be doing something right. I guess.
