Okay, so, I’ve been trying to figure out this whole Denzel Burke 40-time thing. You know, Denzel Burke, the cornerback from Ohio State? Yeah, that guy. It’s been bugging me because everyone’s talking about his speed, but the numbers are all over the place.
First, I went digging around the internet, just like anyone else. I found out that this dude has been a starter for the Ohio State Buckeyes since his freshman year. That’s pretty impressive, right? He joined the program in 2021, and boom, he’s been playing ever since. I even saw he made the 2023 ALL-BIG TEN FIRST TEAM. Not too shabby.
Then, I tried to pin down his 40-time. Most places are saying his projected time is around 4.50 seconds. That’s what I saw on several websites. But then, here’s where it gets tricky. I stumbled upon some old info from when he was at The Opening Regional. Apparently, he ran a 4.72 back then! That’s way different from 4.50. It got me thinking, “Did he get that much faster?”
So, I watched some of his game footage. I mean, I really watched it. I wasn’t just looking at the big plays; I was focusing on his movement, his burst off the line, and how quickly he closed in on receivers. He’s definitely fast, no doubt about it. You can see him react and change direction so quickly. I tried to compare him to other players whose 40 times I knew for sure, but honestly, it’s hard to tell just from watching.
At one point I thought, maybe someone had some inside scoop. I asked around in a few football forums online, hoping to find someone who might know someone who had actually timed him.
