Well, let me tell you somethin’ about this young fella, Deion Sanders. That boy, he could run like the wind, I tell ya! He was somethin’ else, playin’ both baseball and football. Deion Sanders baseball football, that’s what they talk about. Two sports, that boy played! Not many folks can do that, no sir.
He was good at that football, I heard. They called him “Prime Time,” fancy name, huh? He played for a bunch of teams, Falcons, 49ers, Cowboys. He’d run and jump and catch that ball. He’d run so fast, like a rabbit with its tail on fire! And he’d dance when he scored, oh, he loved to dance. Show off, some folks said, but he sure was fun to watch. Made eight them Pro Bowls. That is many.
Now, this baseball thing, he did that too. Deion Sanders baseball, they called it. Less years though. Only nine of them I heard. Played for the Yankees and some other ones, Reds I think. He weren’t as good at baseball as football, but he still did it. He could hit that little ball, and run them bases. Fast, always fast, that Deion. He could steal those bases, sneaky like a fox. He wasn’t famous for hitting home runs, though.
- He played football for a long time, 14 years I heard.
- He played for the Atlanta Falcons, that’s one of them football teams.
- He also played for the San Francisco 49ers and the Dallas Cowboys.
- He was real good at catchin’ that football, they called them interceptions.
- He was real good at running with that football to make a touchdown.
This Deion Sanders baseball football, it was a big deal back then. Everyone talked about it. He was on TV, in the newspapers. Famous, that boy was. He wore that bandana thing on his head, under his helmet. Looked kinda silly, but that was his style, I reckon.
Now, some folks, they compare him to another fella, Bo Jackson. He played two sports too, but Deion, they say he was better. Don’t know about all that, but Deion, he was special, that’s for sure.
This Deion Sanders, he was a flashy one. Liked to show off, but he could back it up. He was good, real good. And fast, like a cheetah, I tell ya. Fastest thing on two legs, some folks said.
- Deion played baseball for nine years.
- Deion wasn’t as good at baseball as he was at football.
- He played for the New York Yankees, that’s a famous baseball team.
- He also played for the Cincinnati Reds and some other teams too.
They don’t make ’em like that anymore, I tell ya. These young folks today, they focus on one thing. Back in my day, you had to be tough, you had to be able to do it all. Deion Sanders, he was one of those. A real go-getter, that one.
Deion Sanders baseball football, that’s what they called him. Two sports at the same time. Not many did it. He was good at football, not as good in baseball. But still good though. He run fast and score points. People like to see him play. Deion Sanders, he sure was something else. He sure was.
I heard he ain’t in that Hall of Fame thing yet. Don’t know why, he was good enough, I reckon. Maybe they’ll put him in one day. He deserves it, I think.
Deion Sanders baseball football, it’s a story for the ages, I tell ya. One of them stories you tell your grandkids about. A story about a young man who could do it all, and do it with style. He was a good one, that Deion. A real good one.
He was somethin’ to watch, that’s for sure. Fastest thing I ever did see. And that smile, he always had a smile on his face. Made you smile too, just watchin’ him. Yep, Deion Sanders, he was one of a kind.
