Thinking About Big Dudes
So, the other day, I was just scrolling, you know, watching some stuff online. And these two guys kept popping up, kinda got me thinking. Roman Reigns and Jason Momoa.
First time I really stopped and looked, I was like, huh. They kinda have this similar vibe, right? Big guys, long hair, beards sometimes. Lots of presence, you know? Like they walk into a room and you notice ’em.
But then I started really looking. Reigns, he’s got that intense stare, that kinda polished powerhouse thing going on, especially in the WWE. Everything feels very deliberate, very strong. Momoa, he’s more like… wild? Like he just wrestled a bear and then showed up. More rugged, maybe. More of that ‘don’t care’ attitude but still cool.
Got me thinking about that whole image thing. How they project that power, that confidence. It ain’t just about being big, though obviously, that’s part of it for them.
Trying Something Small
So, I thought, what the heck. Can’t exactly become Aquaman overnight, right? And definitely not gonna be spearing anyone soon. But I looked at my own routine. I go to the gym, lift some weights, try to stay reasonably fit. Nothing crazy.
I decided to focus a bit more on compound lifts for a while. You know, the big ones: squats, deadlifts, bench press, overhead press. Stuff that works multiple muscles. Felt like that kinda mirrored that overall power vibe they have, rather than just doing small isolation exercises.
- Started adding heavier squats back into the routine. Legs were killing me first week.
- Focused on my deadlift form. Watched some videos, tried to really feel the power from the ground up.
- Pushed myself a bit more on the bench and overhead press.
It wasn’t about suddenly looking like them. That’s just genetics and years of hardcore training and, let’s be honest, probably some Hollywood magic and top-tier nutritionists.
For me, it was more about feeling that base strength. That solid foundation. After a few weeks, I gotta say, didn’t look like Reigns or Momoa, surprise surprise. But I did feel… more solid? Like I was building something functional. Moving heavier weight felt good, felt powerful in its own small way.
And the hair thing? Nah. I thought about letting mine grow out a bit, kinda like theirs. Looked in the mirror, pictured it… decided my current short hair is way easier to manage. Gotta be practical, right?

So yeah, that was my little experiment inspired by those two dudes. Didn’t become a Tribal Chief or King of Atlantis. Just lifted some heavy stuff, felt a bit stronger, and decided my current haircut is fine. Sometimes it’s just interesting to see what sparks an idea, even if it just leads to a few tougher workouts. Still respect the presence those guys command, though. It’s definitely something.
