Okay, so I’ve been meaning to get into watching tennis matches and keeping track of the stats. I picked the Coco Gauff vs. A. Tomljanovic match to start with. Let me tell you, it wasn’t as straightforward as I thought it would be!

First, I searched for where I could even watch the match. I figured it’d be on some major sports channel, you know? Turns out, finding a reliable stream was a bit of a pain.
Finding the Match
- I initially tried a couple of the usual sports websites, but no luck. Lots of pop-ups and questionable links, so I backed out of those quickly.
- Then I remembered a friend mentioning a streaming service, I think tennis tv or something, so I checked that out.
Once I finally found a working stream (phew!), I decided I needed a way to keep track of the important stuff. I’m a bit of a data nerd, so I wanted more than just the final score.
Tracking the Stats
I grabbed a notebook and pen – old school, I know. I figured I’d just jot down the key moments, like:
- Each game’s winner
- Any break points
- Maybe some notes on unforced errors, ’cause those seemed important.
It was messy! My notes were all over the place. I started with a nice, organized table, but as the match got more intense, it all went out the window. I was scribbling everywhere, trying to keep up.
The Aftermath
After the match, I had this messy notebook full of barely legible notes. It was kind of a disaster, to be honest. But, I did manage to get a general sense of how the match went. I definitely saw Gauff’s strong serves and Tomljanovic’s, uh, struggles at certain points.
Next time, I’m thinking I need a better system. Maybe an app? Or a spreadsheet? My handwritten notes were just not cutting it. Live and learn, I guess! At the end I successfully understood the result and felt the intense from the TV.
