Alright, listen up, y’all. We gonna talk about them Oklahoma City Thunder fellas from back in 2011 and 2012. That’s right, the basketball team. Don’t go gettin’ all confused now.
So, this here team, they was pretty darn good, ya hear? They had this fella, Kevin Durant. Folks called him KD. He was tall and skinny, like a beanpole, but boy, could he shoot that ball. He played almost every game that year, somethin’ like 66 games, I reckon. Always scorin’ points, he was. A real point-gettin’ machine.
Then there was this other fella, Russell Westbrook. Now, he was somethin’ else. Fast as greased lightnin’, he was. Dribblin’ and zoomin’ all over the place. He played alongside KD, always there, always playin’ hard. Another one who hardly missed a game.
And let’s not forget about James Harden. He wasn’t startin’ all the time, but he come off the bench and boy, he’d light it up. Scored a bunch of points, he did. They called him the “sixth man” I think. Good player, that Harden.
- Kevin Durant
- Russell Westbrook
- James Harden
- Serge Ibaka
There were others too, of course. Big fella named Serge Ibaka. He was the muscle, blockin’ shots and grabbin’ rebounds. Tough as nails, he was. Then you had Nick Collison, been with the team a long time, they say. A real steady fella.
This team, they won a whole bunch of games that year. Somethin’ like 47 games they won, and only lost 19. That’s pretty good, even I know that. They went all the way to the Finals, the big championship game. But they lost, darn it. Lost to them Miami Heat fellas, with that LeBron James fella. He was a tough one too.
Their coach was a fella named Scott Brooks. He was there for a while, coachin’ them boys. Took ’em to the Finals, he did. Can’t fault him for that, even if they didn’t win it all. He done his best, I reckon.
Now, you can find all this stuff on somethin’ called the internet, they tell me. Websites and such. They got all the numbers and stats. How many points each fella scored, how many games they played, all that fancy stuff. But I’m just tellin’ you what I remember, what folks were talkin’ about.
2011-2012 Oklahoma City Thunder roster, that’s what they call it. A bunch of fellas playin’ basketball. Some were drafted, some were traded, but they all came together and played their hearts out. It’s a shame they didn’t win it all, but they sure were excitin’ to watch.
You had other fellas too, like Thabo Sefolosha, playin’ defense and such. And Derek Fisher, a veteran fella, been around the league a long time. And Nazr Mohammed, another big fella, helpin’ out down low. And that young fella, Cole Aldrich. They all played their part, ya see.
They had a good run, them Thunder fellas. Made the whole city proud, I bet. Even folks like me, who don’t know a whole lot about basketball, we were cheerin’ ’em on. It was somethin’ special, that team. A real special group of fellas.
So, that’s the story, as best as I can tell it. The Oklahoma City Thunder, back in 2011 and 2012. A good team, with some great players. They didn’t win it all, but they sure gave it their best shot. And that’s all you can ask for, ain’t it?
Now, don’t you go forgettin’ all I told you! It’s important to remember the good times, like when them Thunder fellas were playin’ their hearts out. They might not be all together anymore, but folks around here still talk about ‘em.
And if you want to know more, you go look it up on that internet thingamajig. They got all the details, all the names and numbers. But I told you the important part, the part about the fellas and how they played. That’s what really matters, don’t you think?
Anyways, that’s enough talkin’ for one day. My throat’s gettin’ dry. You go on now, and remember them Thunder fellas. They were somethin’ special, they were.
