Alright, so I’ve been messing around with this whole dynasty fantasy basketball thing, and let me tell you, it’s a whole different beast compared to regular leagues. I wanted to get a handle on Bucky Irving’s potential, so I dove in headfirst. Here’s how it went down.

Scouting the Kid
First things first, I needed to see what Irving was all about. I watched some game footage, not just the highlights, but the full games. I wanted to see his running style, his vision, how he handled different situations.
- Vision and Patience: Did he hit the hole decisively, or dance around too much?
- Power vs. Speed: Was he a bruiser, a speedster, or a mix of both?
- Pass Catching: Could he actually catch the ball out of the backfield, or was he just a check-down option?
- pass proCould he actualy block anybody that came at him with no remorse?
The tape showed me that he’s got some real burst and can make guys miss. Good * also can block any fast mover that comes his way, good sign for his carrer!
Digging into the Numbers
Next, I checked out some stats. I wasn’t just looking at rushing yards, though. I wanted the deeper stuff.
- Yards After Contact: How many yards did he gain after a defender got a hand on him?
- Missed Tackles Forced: How often did he make defenders look silly?
- Receiving Stats: Targets, receptions, yards – the whole nine yards.
The numbers backed up what i was seeing.
Considering The Situation
Okay, so Irving looked good on his own. But in dynasty, the team context matters a lot. So I considered his landing spot and future.
- Offensive Line: Is the team’s O-line a bunch of turnstiles, or are they road graders? That will make all the difference.
- Coaching Staff: Does the coach like to run the ball, or is it all about the passing game?
- Competition: is it filled with starters ,rookies or just plain players?
I spent a good chunk of time reading team reports and projections to figure this out. It’s not an exact science, but you gotta get a feel for it.
Making the Call
After all that, I formed my own opinion on Irving’s dynasty outlook. I weighed the pros and cons, factored in his talent, situation, and my own gut feeling. I decided I was fairly high on him, but not ready to go all-in just yet. He’s a guy I’m definitely targeting in the later rounds of my rookie drafts, though. Someone that is worth the risk.
This whole process, it’s a grind. But that’s what makes dynasty fun, right? You’re not just drafting for this year, you’re building for the future. And finding those hidden gems, like maybe Bucky Irving, that’s what it’s all about.
