Well, let me tell ya, things in that wrestling world are always changin’, ain’t they? Just like the weather, one minute it’s sunny, the next it’s pourin’ rain. Now, I heard tell that Bobby Lashley, that big strong fella, yeah, him, his contract with WWE is ’bout to run out. They say it’s gonna be up in the next few weeks, or maybe a month or so. Land sakes, time flies, don’t it?
See, this Bobby fella, he’s been wrestlin’ for a good while now. They say he’s 48 years young, which ain’t exactly a spring chicken, but he’s still got some fight left in him, I reckon. Last time I saw him in the ring was back in May, at some live show or other. Heard tell he hurt his shoulder somethin’ fierce a long time ago, back in ’07, and kept on wrestlin’ with it, tough as nails he was. But then he had to get it fixed, had surgery and all.
- Now, WWE, they weren’t too happy ’bout that surgery, see. They put a lot of money and time into him, and they figured gettin’ fixed would cool him off, make him less popular. That’s what I heard anyways.
- And then things went sour, real sour. Bobby, he got mad, WWE got mad, and he ended up askin’ to leave ’round ’08. He went off and did his own thing for a while, wrestled somewhere else, I think.
- Then, wouldn’t you know it, he came back to WWE, big as life. They paid him real good, too. Heard he’s one of the highest-paid wrestlers they got, makin’ a million dollars a year or somethin’ like that. That’s a whole lotta hay, ain’t it?
But now, it looks like things might be changin’ again. His contract’s runnin’ out, see, and nobody knows for sure what he’s gonna do. Will he stay with WWE, or will he go off somewhere else again? Maybe he’ll even hang up his boots and call it a day. Lord knows, he’s earned a rest. He wrestled with that bad shoulder for a long time, must’ve hurt like a dickens.
Heard tell he wanted to help out the younger wrestlers, teach ’em the ropes, before he retired. Wanted to make sure they were good and ready before he stepped aside. That’s mighty kind of him, I say. He’s been a champion in that wrestling ring more than once they say, held a big ol’ belt and everything. But even champions get old, and their time runs out eventually.
Folks are talkin’, you know. They’re wonderin’ what’s gonna happen next. Will he sign a new contract with WWE? Will he go to another wrestling place? Or will he just go home and sit on his porch, drinkin’ lemonade and watchin’ the world go by? Nobody knows for sure, but it sure is somethin’ to talk about.
It’s like that time ol’ Bessie’s cow got out of the pasture. We all stood around, watchin’ her run around, and nobody knew which way she was gonna go. Same thing here, I reckon. We’re all just waitin’ and seein’ what Bobby Lashley’s gonna do. He is a big fella. Reminds me of my Elmer, bless his soul, always big and strong.
Anyways, I hope he does what makes him happy. He’s been wrestlin’ a long time, and he deserves to do whatever he wants. Whether he stays, whether he goes, or whether he just sits on that porch, it’s his choice. And that’s all there is to it. It’s his life after all, just like it was Elmer’s choice to plant them tomatoes last year, though they didn’t do so well I tell you.
Wrestling is a rough business, you know. Lots of travelin’, lots of bumps and bruises, and lots of hard work. It ain’t for the faint of heart, that’s for sure. So whatever Bobby Lashley decides to do, I wish him all the best. He seems like a good fella, a hard worker, and he’s always been respectful, from what I’ve seen on that TV.
So, there you have it. That’s the story as I heard it. Bobby Lashley’s contract is ’bout to be up, and nobody knows what’s gonna happen next. It’s a waitin’ game now, just like waitin’ for them tomatoes to ripen. You just gotta be patient and see what happens. And that, my friends, is the gospel truth, as sure as I’m sittin’ here.
