Okay, so, I recently dove deep into the world of black tag teams in the WWE, right? And let me tell you, it’s been a wild ride. Started off just watching a few matches, you know, casually. I stumbled upon some old clips of Harlem Heat, Booker T and Stevie Ray, just dominating the ring. These guys were fire! Ten-time WCW tag team champs – that’s insane!
Then I moved on, checking out more recent stuff. The New Day, with Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods, these guys are hilarious and super talented. It’s cool to see how different teams bring their own flavor to the game. I even read up on some history, learning about teams like The Blackjacks, Blackjack Mulligan and Blackjack Lanza. These guys were legends way back in the 70s, apparently.
- Harlem Heat (Booker T and Stevie Ray)
- The New Day (Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods)
- The Blackjacks (Blackjack Mulligan and Blackjack Lanza)
- Doom
But it wasn’t all just watching matches and reading. I really started to think about what it means to see these black wrestlers teaming up and making a name for themselves. It’s definitely a complex thing. On one hand, you’ve got these amazing athletes putting on incredible performances. But on the other hand, you wonder about the bigger picture, like representation and all that. I was really impressed when I heard Booker T talk about the progress of Black representation in WWE, It’s good to hear that things are moving forward.
Realization
Honestly, this whole thing just snowballed. What began as a simple curiosity turned into me spending hours watching matches, reading articles, and just thinking about the history and impact of these teams. It’s been a real eye-opener. I also found some moves of the tag teams are so cool, like the variation of DDT that used by Mick Foley, Stevie Richards, Drew McIntyre, and Jon Moxley. I tried to do the move myself, but failed, lol. Overall, I am happy that I spent time watching and learning these.
