Okay, so let’s talk about that trip I took to Petco Park, specifically Section 325. I’d heard mixed things, so I was curious to see for myself.
First thing I did was check out some online seating charts. I wanted a general idea of where I’d be. Section 325, it turned out, is up in the 300 level, along the first base line. Not exactly prime real estate, but hey, I wasn’t expecting a front-row seat.
Getting to the stadium was pretty straightforward. I took the trolley, which was convenient. Walked in, grabbed a beer, the usual. Then, I made my way up to the 300 level. Took a while, lots of stairs, but I got there.
Now, about the section itself. Like I said, it’s high up. The view of the field is, well, it’s a view. You can see everything, sure, but it’s not exactly close-up. If you want to see the players’ faces, you’ll need binoculars or something. Also, if it is the day game, be ready to face the sun. If you are like me, who don’t like the heat. 200-level is a better choice. I heard that the Premier Club seats are pretty good. Food deliver, wider seats, more leg room, everything. But it is not my type. I like the common seats. Cheaper.
- Pros:
- You can see the whole field.
- It’s a cheaper option.
- 200-level is much better if you hate the sun.
- Cons:
- It’s pretty far from the action.
- You’re gonna be in the sun a lot during day games.
- Section 325, in particular, has an obstructed view of the right field corner. I didn’t notice it much, but some folks might mind.
- And yeah, if it’s an evening game, you might be staring directly into the setting sun. Not ideal.
So, would I recommend Section 325? It depends. If you’re on a budget and just want to be at the game, it’s fine. There seems to be no bad seat in the house. But if you’re looking for a premium experience, this ain’t it. You might want to consider those Premier Club seats on the field level, or maybe something on the 200 level along the third-base line. I’ve heard those are pretty sweet, especially for shade during day games. If you are looking for a valuable seat, 200-level along the third-base line will be a good choice. And they deliver food to your seat! They are just around 65 bucks. That is what I heard from the guy sitting next to me.
Final Thoughts
All in all, Section 325 is what it is. A decent, budget-friendly option with a bird’s-eye view. Just manage your expectations, bring some sunscreen, and you’ll have a good time. Go Padres!
