So, I’ve been messing around with putters lately, and I stumbled upon this whole Arnold Palmer putter thing. It’s kind of a rabbit hole, to be honest. I started by just looking for a new putter, you know? Something that felt good, looked decent.

Digging into it
I started poking around online, reading forums, watching videos, the usual. I saw a few mentions of “Arnold Palmer” putters, and I was like, “Wait, the Arnold Palmer?” Turns out, yeah, he had his own line of clubs, and the putters are somewhat of a collector’s item, depending on which one you find.
My Hunting
I started hitting up some local used sporting goods stores, and, it’s like treasure hunting. Some of these places are a mess! But I found a few that looked promising.
- First Stop: Total bust. Nothing but beat-up beginner sets.
- Second Stop: Found a couple of old putters, but they were in rough shape. One had a grip that was practically crumbling.
- Third Stop: Bingo! Found one that was in pretty good condition. It’s a “Peerless” model.
I grabbed the putter and give it a try. The weight was something that I was looking for. It’s not perfect, the grip is worn, and there are a few scratches, but it’s got that vintage vibe. And honestly, for the price, I figured it was worth a shot.
Give it a try
I’ve taken it to the putting green a few times. It definitely feels different than my old putter. It’s heavier, for one thing. I’m still getting used to it, but there’s something satisfying about rolling putts with a club that has some history behind it.
I might try to clean it up a bit more, maybe even re-grip it. But for now, I’m just enjoying the process of learning a new(to me) putter.
