So, the other day, I got curious about Bobby Portis odds. Dunno why, maybe saw a highlight clip or something, him hyping the crowd. Got me thinking, you know?

First thing I did, pulled out my phone. Didn’t even get off the couch. Fired up one of those sports betting apps I got installed. Always tell myself I’ll delete ’em, but yeah, still there.
Navigated over to the NBA section, then looked for the Bucks game. Took a minute, sometimes these apps bury the player props. Found the game, then scrolled down… way down… past the main lines, point spread, all that jazz.
Finding the Actual Numbers
Finally hit the ‘Player Props’ or ‘Player Specials’ tab. There he was, Bobby Portis. They had lines for a bunch of stuff:
- Points Over/Under
- Rebounds Over/Under
- Points + Rebounds combo
- Maybe some three-pointers made? Yeah, that too.
The numbers themselves weren’t anything crazy. Seemed pretty standard for a guy like him, coming off the bench, giving energy. I remember looking at his points line, maybe it was like 12.5 or 13.5 points? The odds for the over and under were pretty typical, like -110 or -115 each way. Nothing jumping out saying ‘free money here!’.
Comparing and Thinking
Just out of habit, I switched to another app I have. Sometimes the lines are slightly different, you know? Maybe one book has him at 12.5 points, the other at 13.5. Or the juice, the price you pay, might be better.
Checked the second place. Pretty similar story. Maybe a half-point difference on rebounds, but nothing major. The odds were basically identical. Felt like they all just copy each other sometimes, or use the same data feed. Makes sense, I guess.
I thought about his recent games. Has he been scoring more? Rebounding well? He’s usually pretty solid, brings that energy. But consistency can be up and down for bench guys depending on game flow and matchups. It wasn’t like a sure thing either way, hitting the over or the under.
End Result?
In the end, I didn’t even place a bet. Looked at the numbers, thought about it for maybe five minutes. Seemed like a coin toss, honestly. The odds didn’t offer enough value for me to jump on it. If it was like +150 for him to get over 12.5 points, maybe I’d throw a few bucks down for fun. But at standard odds? Nah.

Just closed the apps. Went back to whatever I was doing. It was just one of those quick dives down a rabbit hole. You see something, get curious, check it out, and move on. That’s how it goes sometimes. Just another day messing around, looking at stuff.
