Alright, guys, so I’ve been diving deep into this whole TB12 Method thing, spurred on by the buzz around Alex Guerrero. You know, Tom Brady’s go-to guy for staying in peak condition. I started this little project because I was just so curious. How does Brady keep going at his age, right?
I started digging around, and it seems like the key is this “muscle pliability” concept that Guerrero and Brady swear by. So, I decided to try and incorporate some of their practices into my own routine.
First off, I started to get more serious about my workouts. Not just hitting the gym, but focusing on exercises that are supposed to make muscles more pliable. Think lots of stretching, resistance bands, and stuff that’s way different from my usual weightlifting routine.
- Started with a 15-minute warm-up, heavy on the stretching.
- Used resistance bands to work on flexibility and muscle lengthening.
- Tried to mimic some of the workouts shown on the TB12 website.
Then there’s the diet. Man, this was tough. No processed foods, lots of water, and mostly plant-based meals. I tried to stick to it as best as I could, but let me tell you, it’s a big change from my usual diet.
- Cut out most processed foods.
- Upped my water intake like crazy.
- Ate a lot more veggies and lean proteins.
Honestly, the first few weeks were rough. My body was not used to this kind of training, and don’t even get me started on the diet changes. I felt tired, sore, and honestly, kind of cranky from cutting out all the junk food I love.
But I kept at it, and after a while, I started to notice some changes. I felt, well, different. More flexible for sure, and weirdly enough, I had more energy throughout the day. It wasn’t a drastic, overnight transformation, but something was definitely shifting.
I also tried out those brain exercises that Brady mentioned, the BrainHQ stuff. Seemed a bit out there, but hey, I was in it to win it. It’s actually kind of fun and feels like it sharpens you up a bit.
Now, I’m not saying I’m ready to join the NFL or anything, but I can see why Brady and others are so into the TB12 Method. It’s not just about working out; it’s a whole lifestyle shift. And yeah, it’s a lot of work and can be super inconvenient at times.
So, there you have it. My little experiment with the Alex Guerrero inspired TB12 Method. I’m still figuring it all out, but it’s been an interesting journey so far. Not sure if I’ll stick with it 100% long-term, but I’ve definitely learned a thing or two about taking care of my body in a different way.
