Alright, folks, let’s talk about my little adventure with Aaron Jones in fantasy football this year. It’s been a bit of a rollercoaster, to say the least.
So, the season kicked off, and I was hyped. Drafted Aaron Jones, feeling good, you know? I did some research before the draft. The man’s a beast when he’s healthy. The Packers lost Adams, which meant Jones would get more targets. I was thinking, “This is my year!” I was projecting him to have 60 catches, 450 receiving yards, and 700 rushing yards. That’s 175 points without touchdowns! Even if he gets just 5 touchdowns, that’s still a solid number. I was optimistic, maybe even a bit too much.
First few weeks, Jones was decent. Not setting the world on fire, but hey, he was getting me points. I started him every week, of course. He was my RB1, my main guy. But then, bam! Injury strikes. Classic fantasy football, right? Hamstring issue, if I remember correctly.
Naturally, I started to look at the advice of experts. I saw that he was ranked RB16 in PPR at one point. That means there were like 15 other running backs you should consider starting before him. Man, that stings. But hey, that’s the game.
- I started to panic a little.
- Checked the waiver wire, but nothing great.
- I found that some experts suggested starting De’Von Achane ahead of Jones.
- Kept an eye on the injury reports like a hawk.
- Seriously, I was refreshing those pages like crazy.
He missed a couple of games. My team struggled. It was rough. I was seriously considering benching him. I even thought about trading him. Talked to some buddies, got mixed advice. Some said hold, some said sell. Ugh, decisions, decisions.
Then came the bye week. A blessing in disguise, I hoped. I was really hoping he would come back strong after the bye and the injury. I needed him back, and I needed him healthy.
And guess what? He returned! I was so relieved. Started him right away, fingers crossed. He had a decent game, not amazing, but decent. It was a start, and I was happy to have him back on the field.
What’s Next?
Now, it’s week 9, and I’m still on the fence. Should I start him? Bench him? Trade him? It’s a tough call. But I still think he has upside. He’s a talented player, and the Packers need him. I think I’ll keep him on my roster, for now, he can still help with the fantasy.
This whole Aaron Jones saga has taught me a few things:
- Patience is key.
- Injuries suck.
- Don’t overreact to early-season results.
Fantasy football, man. It’s a wild ride. But that’s why we love it, right? Or maybe we just love to hate it. Anyway, that’s my Aaron Jones story for now. Let’s see what the rest of the season brings.
