Okay, so today I was trying to fire up Modern Warfare 2 on my PS5, and I hit a snag. This is what happened.
I booted up my PS5, all excited to get some gaming in. The usual stuff, you know, turning on the console, grabbing the controller, and navigating to the game. So far, so good. I launched Modern Warfare 2, and that’s where the trouble started.
Instead of getting into the action, I was greeted with this error message that said “Puget Altus.” I was like, “What the heck is that?” I had never seen this before. It was pretty frustrating because I just wanted to play the game.
Troubleshooting Time
First thing I did was check my internet connection. I made sure my PS5 was properly connected to the Wi-Fi. Everything looked fine on that end. My internet was working perfectly on my other devices, so it seemed like the issue wasn’t with my Wi-Fi.
Next, I thought maybe it was a server issue. You know how sometimes game servers have problems? So I tried restarting the game a few times. I completely closed the game and reopened it, hoping that would do the trick. No luck, the “Puget Altus” error was still there.
Then, I decided to give my PS5 a reboot. I completely turned off the console, waited a few minutes, and then turned it back on. I launched the game again, fingers crossed. Still, the same error message popped up.
I even tried to check the game’s server status online, to see if there was any known outage or maintenance happening. But there was nothing reported on their official channels or forums. Everything seemed normal on their side.
Finally
After all that, I was still stuck with the “Puget Altus” error. It was a real bummer because I was really looking forward to playing. I guess it’s just one of those days where technology doesn’t want to cooperate. I’ll probably try again later or tomorrow. Maybe it’ll just magically fix itself. Or, maybe I’ll have to dig deeper and see what’s going on.
- Booted up PS5
- Launched Modern Warfare 2
- Encountered “Puget Altus” error
- Checked internet connection
- Restarted the game
- Rebooted PS5
- Checked server status online
- Still stuck with the error
That’s my story for today. It’s not the most exciting one, but hey, that’s the reality of gaming sometimes. You win some, you lose some. Or in this case, you just don’t get to play at all.
