Okay, so I was looking into this whole thing with Ronda Rousey and some stuff she said a while back about trans people, specifically trans women in sports. It’s a mess, honestly.
I started by digging up this old interview she did with the New York Post. I think it was back in 2013. The interview was about Fallon Fox, a pro fighter who’s a trans woman. Ronda, she’s a big name in UFC, you know, a former champion and all that. Anyway, in this interview, she said some things that didn’t sit right with a lot of people, basically questioning whether Fallon should be fighting in the women’s division.
- Read a bunch of articles about it.
- Watched some clips of Ronda’s fights.
- Even went back and found that New York Post interview.
Fast forward to now, and this whole thing has blown up again. Someone dug up a social media post Ronda made back in 2013, and let’s just say it wasn’t pretty. I found out she shared a conspiracy video about the Sandy Hook tragedy. Yeah, I know, completely unrelated, but it adds to the whole mess. She came out with an apology, saying she deserved to be “canceled” for it. I read her apology, and it seemed sincere, but people are still pretty upset.
Then I started looking into Ronda’s background a bit. Turns out, she had a tough time growing up. Apparently, she struggled with a speech disorder called apraxia until she was six. But she’s a fighter, literally. She won a bronze medal in judo at the 2008 Olympics, which is huge. Then she got into MMA and became a superstar.
Recently, I saw she said she’s done with WWE, calling it a “shtshow.” That’s a whole other story, but it just shows how outspoken she is.
So yeah, that’s basically what I’ve been digging into. It’s a complicated situation, and there are a lot of opinions flying around. I tried to look at it from all angles, but it’s tough. It’s not just about sports; it’s about how we treat each other, you know? I think that is a big deal. No matter what you think about trans athletes, everyone deserves respect. That’s where I stand on it, at least.
I just wanted to share my findings and what I’ve been thinking about it. I’m still figuring things out, but I thought it’s worth talking about. So, that’s my two cents on the whole Ronda Rousey situation. Thanks for reading.
