This game, Baldur’s Gate, it’s a real head-scratcher sometimes. You see, my grandson, he got me playing it. Said it would keep my mind sharp. Sharp as a tack, he says. But sometimes, those little fellas in the game, they just drop dead. And I’m like, what now? How do I get them back on their feet?
How to Revive Characters in Baldur’s Gate
First thing you gotta know, these Baldur’s Gate characters, they ain’t like us. They can come back from the dead, easy peasy. Well, not that easy, but you get the idea. You can’t just slap them around and tell them to wake up.
So, you gotta find a temple. There are these places all over, like that Friendly Arm Inn place, or that one east of Beregost. Those are the ones I remember. Or there is a Temple of Oghma in Candlekeep. There’s probably more, but my memory ain’t what it used to be. But you can find one if you just look around a little.
- You go to a temple.
- You talk to the priest.
- You pay them some gold.
- They bring your friend back.
Now, these priests, they ain’t workin’ for free. They want gold, and it’s not cheap. I think it was something like 800 gold last time one of my little fellas bit the dust. It’s a lot of money for an old lady like me. They offer a service called “Raise Dead”. It is not a scroll, but a service. You need to pay to use it. But hey, what are you gonna do? You want your little warrior back, you gotta pay up.
You gotta click on the picture of the dead fella. You see those little pictures on the side of the screen? Yeah, those. Click on the one that’s all grayed out. Then, that “Raise Dead” thing, it won’t be red anymore. That means you can click it. That will bring them back to life!
Another Way About Revive in Baldur’s Gate
Now, there is also something about a resurrect spell or something. I think it is called “Raise Dead” spell. But I ain’t never figured that one out. My grandson says it’s for later in the game, that Baldur’s Gate 2 thing. Maybe you need to be smarter than me to use that. But the temple, that’s the easy way. But you still need money to pay them!
There is also this fella named Withers. He just showed up in my camp one day. Don’t even know where he came from. He’s a strange one, that’s for sure. But he can also bring people back to life. Costs 200 gold, though. Still expensive, but cheaper than the temple. This Withers guy, he is found in your camp. You do not need to find him. He just shows up.
There is another thing. Sometimes, the little fellas, they just explode. Poof! Gone. If that happens, well, there ain’t nothin’ you can do. They’re just gone. No picture, no nothin’. That’s a real bummer. You can not see their portrait. So, you can not revive them. I learned that the hard way.
More Tips About Baldur’s Gate
Now, about these NPCs, these are the folks you meet along the way. They can join your little group. But sometimes, your group is full. You can only have so many, you know? If your party is full, you can remove one of them. But some of them just stay wherever you leave them.
If you want to revive your teammates, you need to go to a temple and find the cleric services. You can just click the donation plate. Usually, that is how you find it. So you know how to find the temple and revive your dead teammates now.
So, there you have it. That’s how you get those little Baldur’s Gate characters back on their feet. It ain’t rocket science, but it can be a little tricky at first. Just remember temple, gold, and click the picture. And if they explode, well, you’re outta luck. Just gotta find new ones, I guess. This old brain can only remember so much, but I hope this helps you out some. Good luck with your game, and don’t let those little fellas die too much. It gets expensive!
