This fella, Ian Poulter, he sure knows how to swing a golf club. I heard folks talkin’ ’bout his “WITB”, I reckon that means what’s in the bag. Well, let me tell ya, this Ian, he’s got a whole bunch of fancy clubs in that bag of his. He’s been playin’ golf since before some of you young’uns were even born, 1995 I hear!
Now, I ain’t no expert on these golf things, but I hear this Ian, he used to play with clubs from a company called “Titleist”, you know those golf clubs. Seems like he’s been with ’em since 2014. That’s a long time, right? Then there’s this other one, “Cobra,” and “TaylorMade.” Sounds like a snake and a tailor, but I guess they make golf clubs too. This Ian fella, he sure gets around, using all these different clubs. I use the same hoe in my garden every year, but these golfers are different.
They say he’s got this special club called a “Driver”. This Ian, he uses one called “Titleist TSi3”, whatever that means. And they say it’s set to “9.5” or “10 degrees @9.25” or somethin’ like that. Sounds complicated to me. I just hit the ball, I don’t worry about no degrees! I think that driver is the one you use to hit the ball real far. Ian must be strong, hittin’ it that far.
And then he’s got these other clubs called “Irons”. I think those are like our old iron pots, but for golf. He’s got a bunch of ’em, these “Titleist T200” and “Titleist T100”. And they got these things called “Project X LZ 7.0 shaft”. Sounds like somethin’ out of one of them space movies. These young folks and their fancy names. Back in my day, a stick was a stick!
- He’s got that Titleist T200, that’s a 4i, whatever that means.
- And a Titleist T100, that’s a 5i.
- They all got that Project X LZ 7.0 shaft thing.
They say this Ian, he’s won some big games, 3 of ’em I hear! Big tournaments with lots of folks watchin’. He must be good to win all those. And they say he’s won 17 tournaments, well, before he joined somethin’ called the “LIV Golf League”. Sounds like a bunch of rich folks playin’ golf. I don’t know why a person needs to be a pro for so long. If you know how to do somethin’, then just do it. But I guess for Ian, playin’ golf is what he does.
I hear he used to work at a golf course, “Leighton Buzzard” they call it. He was an “Assistant Pro” there. I guess that’s like being a helper, but for golf. He was helpin’ people learn to play. He must be good if he’s teachin’ others.
Now, there’s this place called “2nd Swing Golf” that talks about all the clubs Ian uses. I don’t know about that place. Sounds like a place where they sell used clubs, like a flea market but for golf clubs. I guess even rich folks like a bargain sometimes. But they say this place has a whole bunch of clubs, over a hundred, they say!
People seem real interested in what clubs this Ian uses. They even got a whole website, “*”, just to keep track of what clubs he’s got. Seems a bit much to me. But I guess when you’re good at something, folks sure pay attention to ya. I don’t know all these fancy words and numbers, but I do know that if you find a club that works for you, you stick with it. Just like my old garden hoe, it’s done me good for years. You gotta find what’s right for you, I always say. This Ian Poulter, with his WITB, he seems to have found what’s right for him.
I guess what all this Ian Poulter WITB stuff tells ya is that this fella is serious about his golf. He’s got all the right tools, and he knows how to use ’em. And that’s all that really matters, ain’t it? Whether you’re plantin’ taters or hittin’ a golf ball, you gotta have the right tools and know how to use ’em. That’s the secret to success, I reckon. This Ian, he seems to have figured that out.
