Well, let me tell ya about this Dimitri Cup thingy, sounds like a big to-do for the young’uns.
What’s the Dimitri Cup?
So, from what I hear, it’s this Dimitri Cup 2024 schedule thing, a soccer shindig, you know, for kids to kick around a ball. They call it a “tournament”, sounds fancy, huh? It’s the 21st one they’re doin’, so it must be a pretty big deal for them soccer folks. They got all sorts of ages, from little tykes to bigger kids, boys and girls both. Seems like everyone gets a chance to play, which is nice, I guess. This thing has different age brackets, like under 8 all the way to under 19. They split it up into two weekends, one for the younger kids and another for the older ones. Makes sense, wouldn’t want them big kids trampling the little ones, now would ya?
When and Where’s it Happenin’?
This 2024 Dimitri Cup tournament is gonna be in Florida, down in that Lakewood Ranch place. Heard it’s a nice spot, plenty of room for them kids to run around. The younger kids, the ones under 8 to under 12, they play on January 13th to 15th. Then the older bunch, the under 14 to under 19, they get their turn later on. Don’t rightly remember when, but somebody said somethin’ ’bout January. It’s a 2 day tournament in Fla. so folks gotta be there early and ready to go. Gotta make sure them kids eat their breakfast, don’t want ’em runnin’ outta steam on the field. And plenty of water, gotta stay hydrated, especially in that Florida heat. They say it’s at the Premier Sports Campus, sounds like a big fancy place with lots of fields and whatnot.
Who’s Runnin’ This Show?
They say it’s presented by the 21st Annual Dimitri Cup, so whoever this Dimitri fella is, he’s the one puttin’ it all together. Probably some fella with deep pockets and a love for soccer. Or maybe his kid played and he got hooked, who knows? They been doin’ this for 21 years, so it’s gotta be somethin’ good. Wouldn’t keep doin’ it if folks didn’t like it, right? Someone mentioned Jacksonville Beach, maybe that’s where the people who run it are from. There’s a street, somethin’ like Third street south, maybe that’s important.
What to Expect?
Well, I reckon there’ll be a whole lotta kids runnin’ around, kickin’ balls, and their parents yellin’ from the sidelines. You know how it is. Probably got folks sellin’ snacks and drinks, maybe some souvenirs too. Heard it’s a big thing, so I imagine there’ll be lots of folks comin’ to watch. Gotta be good for the local businesses, I reckon. All them folks gotta eat and sleep somewhere. And if it’s anything like them other sporting events I seen on TV, there’ll be trophies and medals and all that fancy stuff. Them kids get all excited ’bout that, makes ’em feel special.
More About the Schedule
- The little kids, under 8 to under 12, they play on January 13th to 15th. That’s the U8-U12 Weekend.
- The older kids, under 14 to under 19, they play later. That’s the U14-U19 Weekend. The 20th Annual Dimitri Cup U14-U19 Weekend was Jan 28th in 2023, so maybe the older kids play around that time this year too, makes sense. And last year, the 20th Annual Dimitri Cup U8-U13 Weekend was on Jan 21st, so it seems like this cup thing happens around January each year.
- It all happens at Lakewood Ranch at the Premier Sports Campus, which I heard is a big place for sports.
- The Age and Groups are divided into Boys and Girls from U8-U12 and from U14-U19.
Final Thoughts
So, that’s the gist of it. This Dimitri Cup, it’s a soccer thing for kids, happening in Florida, in January. Sounds like a good time for them youngsters, gettin’ some exercise and havin’ some fun. And who knows, maybe one of them kids will go on to be a big soccer star someday. You never know. Just gotta make sure they stay safe and have a good time. That’s what matters most, right? Now, where did I put my glasses? Can’t hardly see a thing without them these days.
