Alright, let’s talk about this… uh… Cody Rhodes fella and his wrestling toy. The “Elite” one, they call it. Sounds fancy, don’t it? Like somethin’ the rich folks would buy.
First off, I ain’t no expert on these things. I just see my grandkids playin’ with ’em, and they seem to like ’em alright. This Cody fella, he’s a wrestler, see? Big muscles, fancy pants, all that jazz. My grandson, little Timmy, he’s just crazy about this Cody guy. Always yellin’ and jumpin’ around when he’s on the TV.
Now, this toy, it’s supposed to look just like him. They say it’s got all these details and stuff, but to me, it just looks like a plastic man. But Timmy, he tells me it’s special, this “Elite” one. Says it moves better, you know, like the real Cody when he’s wrestlin’ on the TV. He can bend his arms and legs all kinds of ways, which I guess is important if you’re gonna make him do wrestling moves.
They got different versions of this Cody toy, too. Like, one looks like him from this “SummerSlam” thing. Timmy showed me a picture, all these people cheerin’ and Cody standin’ in the middle lookin’ all tough. Apparently, this toy looks just like him from that night. Same pants, same everything.
- Timmy tells me that the toy even has little belts and things, just like Cody wears
- And the face, it looks kinda real. Not like those old dolls I used to play with.
- These new toys, they’re somethin’ else, I tell ya.
And people are really buyin’ these things, you know? They say it’s a “collectible” or somethin’. Means it’s worth money, I guess. Timmy says some folks buy ’em just to keep ’em in boxes, never even play with ’em. Can you believe that? Spendin’ good money on a toy and not lettin’ the kids have at it. Wasteful, if you ask me.
But Timmy, he plays with his. He makes Cody wrestle all sorts of other toys. He’s got this whole little wrestling ring set up in his room, and those toys go at it day and night. He makes up all these stories, you know, who’s the good guy, who’s the bad guy. It’s somethin’ to watch, him usin’ his imagination like that.
This Cody guy, he must be makin’ a pretty penny from all these toys. Timmy says he’s one of the big stars in wrestling right now. Makes millions, apparently. Millions! Can you imagine? All that money just for wrestlin’ and havin’ your picture on a plastic toy. Times have changed, that’s for sure.
Now, I heard this Cody fella, he’s got family in the wrestlin’ business too. His daddy was a wrestler, and his brother too. It’s like a whole family thing. Like farmin’, I guess. Some families just stick to the same thing, generation after generation. This Cody, he must’ve learned a lot from his daddy. How to wrestle, how to put on a show, how to sell toys, I reckon.
And this new “Elite” toy, it’s supposed to be the best one yet. Timmy says it’s got all the latest “articulation” – whatever that means. He showed me how it moves, all these different joints and stuff. Said it makes it easier to make Cody do all sorts of cool moves. I don’t know much about it, but he seems happy with it, and that’s what matters, I suppose.
Anyways, that’s the deal with this Cody Rhodes toy. It’s a plastic man that looks like a wrestler, and kids like Timmy seem to love ’em. They’re popular, these toys, real popular. And if it keeps Timmy happy and outta trouble, well, I guess that’s worth somethin’.
So if you’re lookin’ for a toy for your grandkids, or even yourself, I guess, this Cody Rhodes “Elite” thing might be just the ticket. Just don’t ask me too many questions about it, ‘cause I ain’t no expert. I just know what I see, and what I see is a happy grandson.
