Alright, listen up, y’all. I’m gonna tell ya ’bout some fellas, tough guys, you know? They fought in somethin’ called the UFC. Sounds fancy, but it’s just a buncha fellas beatin’ each other up, mostly.
So, first off, there was this guy, Art “One Glove” somethin’-or-other. Jimmerson, that’s it. He was a boxer, good with his fists, won some Golden Gloves thingy. But in this UFC thing, he was the first fella to ever give up. Yep, just tapped out. Imagine that! All that muscle and then, poof, done.
Then there’s Anthony Johnson. Big fella, strong as an ox. He fought another big fella, Cormier, and lost. After that, he had to quit fightin’ ’cause he got sick. Real shame, he was a good fighter. Folks liked watchin’ him.
- Now, this one’s real sad. Elias Theodorou, young fella, only 34. He won some fightin’ show on TV, The Ultimate Fighter somethin’. But that cancer, that nasty thing, got him. Stage 4 liver cancer, they said. Poor boy fought hard, but that cancer, it don’t care how tough you are. Took him right quick. Heard it was in 2022.
- Another tough fella, gone too soon.
Stephan Bonnar, now he was a legend. They even put him in some Hall of Fame. He had this big fight with another fella, Griffin, that everyone talked about. But he died too, at work. Nobody really knows when exactly, but they said it was somethin’ with his heart. He was only 45. Younger than my Billy when he passed. Just goes to show, life ain’t fair.
Then there’s Elias Theodorou again, yep, that same young fella. The cancer got him. Folks were real sad. He was only 34. This fightin’ business, it takes a toll, I tell ya.
And another one, Taylor Wily. He was the first fella they showed fightin’ on TV for this UFC thing. But he didn’t fight much, mostly acted in movies and such. He died too, at 56. Not sure how, they didn’t say.
Last fella I’m gonna tell ya about is Slice. They took him to the hospital in Florida, but it didn’t do no good. His heart gave out. Congestive heart somethin’, they called it. Died the next day, poor soul.
So, you see, these fellas, they were strong, they were tough. But in the end, it don’t matter much. Life’s a fight, and sometimes, even the toughest fighters lose. Makes ya think, don’t it? All that fightin’, and then, just gone. Makes ya wanna hug your loved ones a little tighter, that’s for sure. They fought hard, them UFC fellas, but in the end, somethin’ else always wins. Whether it’s sickness, or just plain bad luck, somethin’ always gets ya. That’s just the way it is, I reckon. You can be the strongest fella in the world, but you ain’t stronger than life itself. And death, well, death comes for everyone, sooner or later. No one can beat that old man with the scythe, no matter how tough they are in the cage.
It ain’t just about the fightin’, see? It’s about the livin’ too. These fellas, they lived their lives, even if it was short. And that’s somethin’ to remember, I guess. They fought, they lived, they died. Just like the rest of us, in their own way.
So next time you hear about some fella fightin’ in the UFC, remember these fellas. Remember they were more than just fighters. They were people, with lives and families and stories. And now, those stories, that’s all we got left. So, I’ve done told ya their stories, and now you know somethin’ bout these UFC fellas who ain’t with us no more.
