Alright, alright, let’s talk about this Genshin thing, the four-point-something version, or whatever they call it. My grandkids keep jabberin’ about it, so I figured I’d try and make sense of it for ya.
So, this Genshin Impact 4.4, they say it’s comin’ out on January 31st, 2024. That’s what they told me, anyways. Now, I don’t know nothin’ about these time zones and all that fancy stuff, but they said somethin’ about it bein’ the 30th for some folks over in America. January 30th, at night, like 7 o’clock or somethin’. And for them folks on the East Coast, it’s even later, like 10 o’clock at night.
Anyways, it’s gonna be around for a good while, this 4.4 thing. Starts on January 31st and goes all the way to March 12th, 2024. They split it up into two parts, you see. Phase 1 and Phase 2, they call it. Phase 1 starts on January 31st and goes till February 20th. Then Phase 2 kicks in from February 20th to March 12th. Don’t ask me what’s different in each part, I ain’t got a clue.
Now, they were talkin’ about some characters, too. This girl Kirara, she’s new, I guess. And then there’s some old ones comin’ back, like Yoimiya and Yae Miko. And Kazuha and Alhaitham, too. Sounds like a whole bunch of ’em. They got these banner things, whatever those are. Seems like you gotta do somethin’ to get these characters, but I ain’t sure what.
Oh, and they got this card game thing, too. Genius Invokation TCG Flagship Event, they call it. Sounds like a mouthful, if you ask me. And new quests, too. Always gotta have somethin’ to do, I reckon.

They also had this livestream thingy, where they talked about all this stuff. That was on January 19th, 2024. I didn’t watch it, mind you. Too much noise and flashin’ lights for my old eyes. But the grandkids told me all about it.
So, there you have it. That’s all I know about this Genshin Impact 4.4 release. If you wanna know more, you gotta ask them young folks. They know all the ins and outs of this game stuff. Me, I’m just tryin’ to keep up with the times, you know? Can’t let these youngsters leave me in the dust.
I heard them sayin’ somethin’ about savin’ up some primogems or somethin’. Lord knows what that is, but apparently, you need ‘em for somethin’ important in the game. They get all worked up about it, so it must be a big deal. And somethin’ about constellations and talents, I think? It’s all Greek to me, I tell ya. But they seem to have a good time with it, and that’s what matters, I guess.
Anyways, I hope this helped you understand this Genshin 4.4 thing a little better. It’s a whole new world, this game stuff. But hey, as long as it keeps the kids happy and out of trouble, I ain’t complainin’. Now, if you’ll excuse me, I gotta go make some supper. All this talk about games made me hungry!

They keep talking about “wishing” on banners, sounds a bit silly to me. Wishing on a banner? Why not just wish on a star like we used to? But I guess that’s how things are these days. All digital and whatnot.
