Alright, listen up, y’all. We gotta figure out this football stuff, this… uh… Terry McLauren or Gabe Davis thing. My grandson, he’s always yellin’ about it, says it’s important for his… fantasy team. Whatever that is. Sounds like a bunch of hooey to me, but he says it helps him win money, so I guess it’s gotta be worth somethin’.
So, who’s better, this Terry fella or Gabe? That’s what everyone’s askin’, right? It ain’t easy, lemme tell ya. It’s like pickin’ between two chickens, both look plump and juicy, but ya only got room for one in the pot.
Now, some folks, they say Terry, he’s been doin’ alright lately. They say he’s been catchin’ the ball pretty good, runnin’ around, and even gettin’ into that end zone thingy a few times. My grandson said somethin’ about 11 points… fantasy points or somethin’. Said he got a bunch of yards too. 369 yards, he said. That’s a lot, even for a young fella like him. And them touchdowns, three of ’em. Sounds like he’s been busy, that Terry.

But then there’s this Gabe fella. People keep talkin’ about him too. They say he’s got potential, like a good cornfield waitin’ to sprout. But potential ain’t gonna win ya no games, is it? You need someone who’s gonna get the job done, right here, right now. Though I heard some folks talkin’ about startin’ him, even in Week 16. Guess he must be doin’ somethin’ right.
My grandson, he keeps readin’ stuff on that phone of his. Says there are experts, hundreds of ’em, givin’ advice. Can you believe that? Hundreds of folks tellin’ ya who to pick for a game that ain’t even real! They look at all sorts of numbers, statistics they call ’em. Makes my head spin just thinkin’ about it. They even talk about Week 1, Week 13, Week 14… Seems like they never stop thinkin’ about this football.
And then there’s this new quarterback in Washington, Jayden somethin’-or-other. People are wonderin’ if he’s gonna help Terry out, make him even better. It’s like havin’ a new plow horse, you hope it’s gonna pull its weight and help ya get the field done faster. They call it a “break out”, whatever that means. Sounds like they want Terry to be the best, a real star. Like that fella on TV, always sellin’ insurance.
So, what’s the answer? Who do ya pick? Terry or Gabe? Well, it ain’t up to me, that’s for sure. I’m just an old woman who knows more about raisin’ chickens than catchin’ footballs. But if I had to choose, based on what I hear, I’d say Terry sounds like the safer bet. He’s been doin’ good, and that new quarterback might just give him the extra boost he needs.
But hey, don’t listen to me. I’m just tellin’ ya what I hear. You gotta make your own decisions in this life. Just like pickin’ the right seeds for your garden, ya gotta do your research and hope for the best. And if it don’t work out, well, there’s always next season, right? Just like plantin’ corn, sometimes it grows tall, sometimes it don’t. That’s just life, I reckon.
So, good luck to ya, whether you pick Terry or Gabe. And remember, it’s just a game. Don’t get your britches in a twist over it. There’s more important things in life, like family, good food, and a warm fire on a cold night.
But still, it’d be nice if my grandson won some money, wouldn’t it? Maybe he’ll buy me somethin’ nice with it, like a new apron or somethin’. That’d be alright. Anyways, I gotta go feed them chickens now. They’re gettin’ restless, just like them football fans.
