Alright, listen up, y’all. We’re gonna talk about these Dodgers and Rockies fellas, you know, the baseball players. Been smackin’ that ball around for years, they have. Since, what, 2001? That’s a long darn time, even for an old woman like me. They’ve played a heap of games, near 300, I reckon. Dodgers, they win a bunch, yeah, like 178 times or somethin’. Rockies, well, they try hard, bless their hearts.
Now, if you wanna know who’s good and who ain’t, you gotta look at the numbers, they say. Like that Shohei fella, Ohtani, I think they call him. Big hitter, that one. Slugging, they call it. He’s got, what, over 90 hits and his sluggin’ number is somethin’ like point six somethin’. Sounds mighty impressive to me, even if I don’t rightly understand it all. He’s been bet on a bunch, too, so he must be doin’ somethin’ right.
- Shohei Ohtani: Lots of hits, big slugger.
- Other fellas: They hit and run and catch, I guess.
These fellas, they got all sorts of numbers. Wins and losses, they call ‘em. Like that Gavin Stone fella, he won one game, and that Ty Blach fella, he lost one. Happens to the best of ‘em, I say. Then there’s that Michael Petersen and Victor Vodnik, same story, one winnin’, one losin’. It’s like a seesaw, up and down, up and down. You win some, you lose some, that’s life, ain’t it?
The other day, Rockies, they beat the Dodgers. Four to one, they say. Box score, they got. Shows you all the numbers, who hit, who ran, who did what. That Goodman fella, he got a point for the Rockies early on, then they got another. Dodgers, they only got one measly point that day. Happens, I tell ya. Sometimes you just can’t hit that ball right.
They got this head-to-head thing, too. Dodgers versus Rockies, all the games they played, all the wins and losses. Dodgers scored a bunch of points over the years, so did the Rockies, but not as many. Dodgers are winnin’ more, like I said. But the Rockies, they keep on tryin’. Gotta admire that, you know? Keep on swingin’ even when you’re down.
And then there’s this Fubo thing. Shows you the games, they say. Live sports and all that. I don’t watch much TV myself, too much noise and flashin’ lights for my old eyes. But folks like to watch these fellas playin’ ball, so I guess it’s a good thing.
That Romo fella, he plays for the Rockies, I think. They say he’s got the home field advantage. Means he’s playin’ at home, where he’s comfortable, I guess. Supposed to help him do better, they say. Boost his numbers, whatever that means. Seems like a lot of fuss to me, but hey, what do I know?
So, these Rockies and Dodgers fellas, they play a lot of games. Some win, some lose. Some hit the ball hard, some don’t. But they keep on playin’, and folks keep on watchin’. And that’s all there is to it, really. Just a bunch of fellas hittin’ a ball and runnin’ around. Keeps ‘em busy, I suppose.
Anyways, if you want all them fancy numbers and stats, go look ‘em up yourself. I just told you what I know, which ain’t much, but it’s honest truth, I tell ya. Now, go on and do somethin’ useful. This old woman’s gotta get back to her chores.
