Well, let me tell ya ’bout this fella, Wade Boggs, and some woman named Margo Adams. It was a big ol’ mess, lemme tell ya. Big mess!
This Wade guy, he played baseball, you know, the hittin’ balls and runnin’ around game. Folks say he was real good at it. Played for a long time, Red Socks and Yankees and such. But that ain’t the story, no sirree. The story is ’bout him and this Margo woman.

That’s a heap of travelin’, I tell ya. And she says Wade paid her for it, sixty dollars a day she said. But then she turned down a twenty-thousand-dollar hush money offer. Guess she wanted more, huh? She ended up suin’ him for half a million dollars! Imagine that, half a million! That’s more money than most folks see in a lifetime.

This thing was all over the news. Everyone was talkin’ ’bout it. Wade’s agent, he told him to end it, but Wade, he just kept on seein’ Margo. Guess he was in deep, ya know?
Now, Wade, he’s an old fella now, sixty-six years old they say. And wouldn’t ya know it, he got cancer. Prostate cancer. Poor fella. He says he’s gonna fight it, “ring that damn bell” he says. Well, I hope he does. Cancer’s a nasty business, no matter who you are or what you done.
And George Steinbrenner, the Yankees owner, he gave Wade a big ol’ contract, eleven million dollars for three years, back in 1992. Wade was off huntin’ when he signed it, didn’t even have a phone nearby. Imagine that, signin’ a contract for that much money and you’re out in the woods!
So, that’s the story of Wade Boggs and Margo Adams. A baseball player, a mistress, a lawsuit, and a whole lotta trouble. Just goes to show ya, money and fame ain’t everything. Sometimes, they just bring ya more problems than they’re worth. And cheatin’ on your wife, well, that ain’t never a good idea. Never a good idea!
It all happened back in 1989, that’s when things got real messy. Folks were gossiping, newspapers were printin’ stories, it was a real circus. And Margo, she was right in the middle of it all, stirrin’ the pot. Can’t say I blame her, though. If a man did me wrong, I’d want the whole world to know, too.
