Now, these golf tournaments, they’re like big get-togethers for them golf fellas. They go out on that there green grass, whacking little balls with them sticks. Tryna get that ball in a hole, seems like. Lots of holes, they say. And whoever does it best, with the fewest whacks, I reckon they win. They get a big ol’ shiny cup, sometimes money too. Heard it’s a lot of money, more than I ever seen in my life, that’s for sure.
Some Names You Might Hear
Folks always talkin’ ’bout different tournaments. Some are bigger than others, I guess. Like that Masters one. Heard it’s a real big deal. Happens every year, ’round springtime, I think. Then there’s the U.S. Open. That one sounds important, what with the “U.S.” and all. And don’t forget the PGA Championship. Lots of letters, must be fancy. Seems like they got these all over the place, all year long.

Now, why do folks care so much ’bout these golf tournaments, ‘specially them crossword puzzle folks? I tell ya, them puzzles, they always askin’ tricky questions. Like, “Some golf tournaments” or “Major golf tournament”. They might ask for the name of a winner, or where it’s played, or when it happens. Sometimes they even ask how many holes there are, or what kinda stick they use. Lordy, so many questions! Makes an old woman’s head spin.
If you’re stuck on one of them crossword thingies, lemme tell ya, you ain’t alone. Lots of folks scratchin’ their heads, tryin’ to figure it out. Sometimes the answer is just a few letters, sometimes it’s a whole word. Like for “Some golf tournaments”, you might see somethin’ like “PGA events” or just “Opens“. Or maybe they want a specific one, like “Masters” or “US Open“. See? Tricky!
Why Folks Love ‘Em
I don’t rightly understand why folks get so worked up ’bout watchin’ golf. Seems kinda slow to me. But they say it’s excitin’, seein’ them fellas hit them balls just right. And there’s always drama, they tell me. Someone missin’ a shot, someone comin’ from behind. And the money, like I said, it’s a lot. Guess that makes it excitin’ for some.

Them golfers, they’re a different breed, I tell ya. Practicin’ all day long, walkin’ around in the sun. Some of ‘em are real famous, faces plastered all over the TV. They got fancy clothes and fancy cars. But at the end of the day, they’re just folks tryin’ to hit a little ball into a hole. Just like the rest of us, I guess, only they get paid a whole lot more for it. And them crossword puzzles love to ask about them too, who won what, and when.
