Well, let me tell ya somethin’ about this Miss Elizabeth, you know, the one from the wrestlin’. They made a little doll of her, a toy, back in the day. LJN, that’s what they called the company, I think. They made all sorts of them wrestlers, Hulk Hogan, and the rest of them fellas.
This Miss Elizabeth doll, she was somethin’ special, I reckon. Not like them rough and tumble boys, all muscles and such. She was pretty, with her fancy dresses and all. My grandkids, they used to play with them toys, slammin’ ’em around, makin’ ’em fight. But Miss Elizabeth, she was always the lady, you know? Standin’ there, lookin’ all nice while the boys did the wrestlin’.
- She wasn’t no wrestler, mind you. Just a manager, they called her. But she was important, just like them fellas in the ring.
- They put her in a shiny dress, sometimes red, sometimes blue. Always lookin’ good, that one.
- And that hair, all blonde and pretty. My girls, they always wanted hair like hers.
Now, this LJN Miss Elizabeth figure, it ain’t just any toy. It’s what they call a vintage toy now. That means it’s old, see? From back in 1986, they say. Heck, that’s a long time ago! Makes you feel old just thinkin’ about it. And because it’s old, it’s worth somethin’, I hear. People collect these things, like they collect stamps or old coins. Goes to show ya, somethin’ that was just a toy for kids can become real valuable later on.
I remember seein’ her on the TV, with that fella, Lex Luger, they called him. Big fella, he was. They was a pair, those two. WWF Wrestling Superstars, that’s what they called the show. Used to watch it with the grandkids, cheerin’ and hollerin’. Good times, those were. Didn’t know nothin’ ‘bout wrestlin’ myself, but the kids loved it, so I watched too. Made ‘em happy, you know?
But then, somethin’ bad happened, real bad. Miss Elizabeth, she passed away. In 2003, it was. Too young, she was. They said it was somethin’ called “acute toxicity.” Don’t rightly know what that means, sounds fancy. But it means she ain’t with us no more. Sad, it was. Real sad. She was a pretty thing, and seemed nice enough, from what I saw on TV.
Now, these LJN figures, they’re like a little piece of history, I guess. They remind you of them times, them wrestlers, and Miss Elizabeth. I saw one of them dolls on the internet the other day, somebody was sellin’ it. Said it was “rare.” Well, I reckon it is, after all this time. And they wanted a whole lot of money for it too! Who knew a little toy could be worth so much?
Makes you think, don’t it? One minute you’re watchin’ somebody on TV, and the next minute they’re gone. And then, years later, their little plastic doll is worth a fortune. Life’s a funny thing, that’s for sure. But I’ll tell ya, that Miss Elizabeth, she was somethin’ special. A real lady, even if she was just standin’ by the wrestlin’ ring. And that 1986 LJN 8 figure, well, it’s a reminder of her, and of them times.
They made a bunch of them dolls, you know. 64 figures, the internet says. And some of ‘em, they painted ‘em different colors. But Miss Elizabeth, she always stood out. Maybe it was the dresses, or maybe it was just her. She had a somethin’ special, that’s for sure. And now, her little doll is special too, a piece of history, a reminder of a time when wrestlin’ was on TV every Saturday, and the kids were glued to the screen, cheerin’ for their favorites. And Miss Elizabeth, she was right there with ‘em, in her pretty dress, lookin’ like a queen.
So, if you got one of them LJN Miss Elizabeth dolls, hold onto it tight. It ain’t just a toy, see? It’s a memory, a piece of history, and a reminder of a lady who was gone too soon. And that’s all I gotta say about that.
