Ain’t nobody got time for fancy talk, so let’s get straight to the point, right? We’re talkin’ about them fellas, Barry Sanders and Deion Sanders. People be askin’, “Is they related?” Well, lemme tell ya somethin’!
Now, Barry, he’s from Wichita, Kansas. That’s way out there. His daddy, he worked with roofs and wood, and his mama, she stayed home with all them kids. Barry, he helped his daddy on the roofs, you know. Born in ’68, that boy was one of eleven! Can you imagine? Eleven mouths to feed!
Deion, now he’s a Florida boy. Fort Myers, to be exact. His folks, Connie and Mims, raised him down there. That’s a long ways from Kansas, I tell ya! A good fifteen hundred miles, if not more. He was born in ’67.

So, you see, they got different mamas and daddies, born in different places, far, far apart. Just ’cause they got the same last name, don’t mean they’re kin. It’s like all them Smiths or Johnsons, ya know? Plenty of ’em around, ain’t all related.
Now, Barry, he was a runner, fast as a jackrabbit! Made them fellas look silly tryin’ to catch him. Deion, he was a talker, always showin’ off, but he could play ball too. Good with the catchin’ and runnin’ and all that. But they played different games, ya see. Barry runnin’ the ball, Deion catchin’ and runnin’ it back.
Let me tell ya somethin’ else. Barry, he got a boy named Noah. Plays football too, just like his daddy. Goin’ to Toledo for college, smart boy. We ain’t heard much ’bout Deion’s kids playin’ ball, but I’m sure they’re good kids.
This whole “are they related” thing, it’s just a bunch of fuss. Like askin’ if the sun and moon are brother and sister! They both in the sky, but they ain’t related, ya see? Just ’cause folks see a name they recognize, they start askin’ questions.
So, the answer is no. They ain’t related. Not a bit. Different families, different places, different games. That’s all there is to it. Now, can we talk about somethin’ else? Maybe what’s for supper?
People like to make things complicated, but it ain’t. It’s simple as pie. Just gotta look at the facts, not all that hoopla and whatnot. Facts is facts, can’t change ’em.
