Okay, so I was just poking around online the other day, not looking for anything specific, really. Just killing some time, scrolling through feeds and websites.

Then I came across this image, or maybe it was a series of them? Hard to remember exactly now. But the style really grabbed me. It was kind of unique, had a certain feel to it. Didn’t see a name attached right away, which happens a lot, unfortunately.
Trying to find the source
So, my curiosity got the better of me. I thought, “I gotta figure out who made this.” First thing I usually do is a reverse image search. Dragged the picture into the search bar. That gave me a whole mess of results, mostly Pinterest boards and aggregator sites, none pointing to an original creator. Typical.
I wasn’t ready to give up yet. Started clicking through some of the sites where it was reposted, looking for comments or captions, anything that might give a clue. Most were dead ends. Just reposts of reposts. Spent maybe twenty minutes just going down that rabbit hole.
Then, on some older blog post where someone was discussing similar styles, buried deep in the comments section, someone mentioned a name: Karina Elias. It wasn’t directly linked to the image I saw, but the description of the style sounded about right.
Putting the name to the work
Alright, finally a lead. Popped “Karina Elias” into my search engine. Got a few different results, as you’d expect. Had to look through a couple of profiles on different platforms. Social media, maybe a portfolio site link somewhere?
Clicked on one that looked promising. Started scrolling through the images or posts there. And boom, there it was. The exact piece I first saw, plus a whole lot more in the same distinct style. Matched perfectly.
So, yeah. That was the artist. Karina Elias. Spent a bit more time just looking through her gallery, seeing the range of work. It’s always pretty satisfying when you manage to track down the source of something you liked online. Took a bit of digging, but got there in the end.
Just wanted to share that little process. Sometimes finding the origin of something online is a mini-project in itself.
