Alright, so I’ve been messing around in ZZZ quite a bit lately. Kept seeing some folks running around with characters looking slightly different, you know? Not crazy changes, but definite unique looks. I got curious, figured I’d try and get one of those myself, specifically for one of my main agents.

Figuring Things Out
First off, I had to figure out how you even get these different looks. It wasn’t super obvious right away. I dug around a bit, checked character screens, loadouts, the usual stuff. Turns out, it’s tied to those W-Engines. Yeah, the gear things you slot onto your agents. But here’s the catch: it’s not just any W-Engine.
You need the specific, designated W-Engine for that particular agent. Each agent seems to have one that’s kinda tailor-made for them, fits their style, you know? It’s usually the one that looks like it belongs to them visually, often the rarest ones too, figures.
The Grind for the Engine
Okay, knowing what I needed was one thing. Getting it was another story. These special W-Engines, they mostly come from the Signal Search. That’s the gacha, basically. So, I started focusing my pulls there.
- Saved up my resources for a bit.
- Did a bunch of pulls whenever I had enough.
- Mostly got a load of common stuff and dupes, the usual gacha experience.
It took a while, not gonna lie. Had to be patient. Finally, after who knows how many pulls, I landed the exclusive W-Engine for the agent I wanted. Felt pretty good, not gonna lie. A bit of relief mixed with excitement.
Making it Work
Got the engine, cool. Now what? I went straight to the agent’s screen. Found the W-Engine slot and equipped the shiny new one I just got. Okay, equipped… but the character didn’t look different yet. I almost thought I misunderstood something.
Then I looked closer at the W-Engine screen itself, where you see the equipped engine. There it was, kinda tucked away at the bottom – a little toggle button. It wasn’t super obvious, but it was there. Flipped that switch on.
The Result
And bam! The agent’s outfit changed. It wasn’t a weapon skin, the weapon looked the same. It was the actual character model, their clothes, that got the unique look. They call ’em ‘Exclusive Skins’ even though it’s tied to the engine effect. Kinda weird naming, but hey, it worked.
So yeah, that was my little journey getting one of those exclusive skins. It’s basically: get the right character-specific W-Engine from the gacha, equip it, and don’t forget to hit that little toggle button on the engine’s screen. A bit of a hassle maybe, relying on luck from the pulls, but the unique look is pretty neat once you finally get it done.
