Oh, let me tell ya about the John Deere Classic, darlin’. Now, this golf event, it happens every year over in Silvis, Illinois, at a place called TPC Deere Run. This TPC Deere Run, well, it sits right there in the Quad Cities region. That’s a collection of towns sprawled ’round the Rock River area, right close to the Mississippi River. Ain’t too far off if ya know where Moline and Davenport are. Now, if you want to get around there during the John Deere Classic, there’s plenty of public parking at places like Quad City Downs, which you’ll find on Morton Drive in East Moline. They got lots of spaces, and some of it’s even free!
Every year, this John Deere Classic usually takes place ’round early July, just before they all head over to the big Open Championship. And folks, they love to come watch the players in action. Ya got winners from all sorts of years — 2024 had Davis Thompson showin’ off with a score of 256, beatin’ the rest. Year before that, Sepp Straka took it with a 263!
Now, let’s talk maps, so you don’t go gettin’ all lost when you’re tryin’ to find TPC Deere Run. The course, it’s pretty spread out over hilly grounds and right beautiful with trees, rivers, and whatnot. If you head down John Deere Road or John Deere Place, well, you’ll be right on track. Just keep an eye on signs, and you’ll be where the action is.
As for the golf course layout, it’s one of those 18-hole deals, and people say it’s real challenging. Lots of twists and turns, and, oh, if you’re thinkin’ of watchin’ from the sidelines, there are designated areas just for that. Bring yourself some water and maybe a fan, ‘cause July out there gets plenty hot.
Now, just so ya know, TPC Deere Run has hosted this big event since 2000, so they know a thing or two ’bout handlin’ all the folks and the golfers. Plus, if you’re wantin’ a snack or somethin’ to drink, they got vendors there, sellin’ all sorts of tasty treats.
