Okay, so today I messed around with trying to recreate some looks inspired by Karen Beltrán. I’m no makeup artist, but I love playing with different styles, and her vibe is just so cool.
First, I started by prepping my face. You know, the usual – cleaned it, moisturized it. Gotta have a good base, right? Then I grabbed my foundation, which is probably a shade too light, but hey, we work with what we’ve got. I blended that all in, trying to make it look somewhat even.
The Eyes
- I dug out my eyeshadow palette – the one with all the browns and shimmery shades.
- I tried to do a smoky eye thing, but it ended up looking more like a muddy eye. Oh well.
- I added some eyeliner, which is always a struggle. One wing is always thicker than the other, I swear!
- Mascara time! I layered that stuff on, trying to get those long, dramatic lashes.
For the lips, I went with a nude lipstick. I thought it would be simple and chic, but it ended up making me look kind of washed out. Maybe I should have gone for a bolder color?
In the end, did I look exactly like Karen Beltrán? Absolutely not. Did I have fun trying? For sure! It’s all about experimenting and finding what works for you. It’s more a creative process, trying to capture the essence of the vibe, rather than be a perfect copy.
It was pretty enjoyable, and good practice too. Maybe tomorrow I’ll try something completely different. That’s the beauty of make up, you can just wash it off and start again!
