Okay, so I’ve been trying to get better at predicting NBA games. It’s tough, man! But I figured, hey, might as well share my process, even if it’s a bit messy. Today, I looked at the Cavs vs. Pacers game.

Getting Started: Checking Recent Performance
First thing I did was check how both teams have been doing lately. You know, are they on a winning streak? Losing badly? I looked at their last five games.
- Cavs: Won 3, Lost 2. Not bad, not great.
- Pacers: Won 4, Lost 1. Okay, Pacers are looking pretty hot.
Diving Deeper: Head-to-Head Matchups
Next, I wanted to see how these two teams have done against each other this season. Sometimes a team just has another team’s number, you know?
It looks like they played three times, and the Pacers won twice. Another point for Indiana, I guess.
Looking at Key Players
I tried to figure it out by looking at who’s playing.
Are there any major injuries?
- Cavs: I saw that Donovan Mitchell is having a great season. But, I read somewhere that Jarrett Allen might be out. That’s a big deal because he’s a strong defender.
- Pacers: Tyrese Haliburton. This guy’s been on fire! He is dishing out assists like crazy.
The “Gut Feeling” Factor
After looking at that, I try to use my “basketball sense” to make sense of things.
It’s like, the Pacers are playing well, they’ve beaten the Cavs recently, and Haliburton is playing amazingly. The Cavs might be missing a key player. All of that makes me lean towards the Pacers. Also, the Pacers are playing at home. Home-court advantage is real!

My Prediction (Finally!)
So, after all that, I’m going with the Pacers to win. It’s not a super confident pick, maybe a close game, but I think they’ll pull it off.
I recorded all my findings in a simple note, just to keep track. It is fun to look back and see how wrong I was and then laugh at myself. I’ll see how it goes! Maybe I’ll update this later with how I did. Wish me luck!
