Okay, so I’ve been trying to get my golf swing like Steve Melnyk’s. It’s not easy, that dude had a smooth swing! I’m no pro, just a weekend golfer trying to improve.

First, I watched a bunch of videos of him. I mean, a LOT. I just kept replaying them, trying to see exactly what he did. It’s all about that fluid motion, you know?
The Setup
I started with the setup. I noticed he stands pretty square to the ball, feet shoulder-width apart. So, I went to the driving range and tried to mimic that. Felt weird at first, kept wanting to open my stance like I usually do.
- Stance: Square to the ball.
- Feet: Shoulder-width apart.
- Ball Position: Seemed like middle of his stance, maybe a bit forward for longer clubs.
The Swing
Then comes the hard part – the actual swing! I focused on keeping my arms connected to my body, like they say. Melnyk’s swing looks like one piece, not all arms and flailing. I tried to rotate my body smoothly, not just yank the club back.
I practiced this over and over. I even try slow-motion swings, just to get the feel of it. It is tough. And I hit a lot of bad shots, shanks, slices, you name it. But every now and then, I’d hit one pure, and it felt amazing!
The follow-through. I made sure to extend my arms towards the target, just like I saw Melnyk do. I was used to chopping down on the ball, and finishing that way too. This new fininshing way felt totally diffrent.
The Result (So Far…)
Honestly, I’m still working on it. It’s not like I magically turned into Steve Melnyk overnight. But I do feel like my swing is getting smoother. My ball striking is definitely more consistent. I’ve got a long way to go, but it’s been fun trying to copy a legend’s swing!
I’ll keep practicing and watching those videos. Maybe one day I’ll have that Melnyk magic… or at least something close to it!
