So, I was messing around trying to come up with a cool name for my character in Starfield. I spent like, an hour just staring at the character creation screen, totally blank. You know how it is, you want something that sounds space-y, but not too cheesy, and fits your character’s vibe.

My Little Experiment
I figured there had to be a better way than just racking my brain. So, I went on a little adventure to find a name generator!
First, I typed something simple into the search bar, just to see what would pop up. I got a bunch of random fantasy name generators, which, you know, not very helpful for a sci-fi game.
I refined my search, adding “Starfield” and “sci-fi” to the mix. Boom! This time, I found some websites that were more on target.
I started clicking around. Some were pretty basic, just spitting out random combinations of words. Others were a bit more sophisticated, letting you choose things like “masculine,” “feminine,” or “neutral,” and even giving options for different origins, like “Martian” or “Spacer.”
I spent some time playing with the different settings, seeing what kind of names I could generate. I was clicking the “Generate” button like crazy! It’s kind of addictive, actually.
Finally,I found a few options that I really liked, jotted them down.I used one of them for my Starfield Character, and mission accomplished.
It’s a pretty simple thing, but it saved me a bunch of time and frustration. Now I can finally jump into the game with a character name I’m actually happy with!
