Okay, so I’ve been messing around with some design stuff lately, and I had this idea for a Colts mascot, but, like, rainbow. It sounded kinda cool in my head, so I figured, why not give it a shot? I’m no pro artist or anything, just like to doodle and play around with colors.
First, I grabbed a pencil and some paper. Yeah, I’m old school like that. I started sketching out the basic shape of the Colts horseshoe. I mean, you gotta have the horseshoe, right? It’s, like, the thing.
Then I thought about how to make it rainbow. Did I want stripes? Swirls? A gradient? My first few tries were, uh… not great. One looked like a toddler got into a paint set. Another one just looked kinda… muddy. Not the vibrant, colorful thing I was going for.
Experimenting with Digital Tools
After a while, I decided to switch to my tablet. I’m not super familiar with all the fancy digital art programs, but I’ve got a basic one that I like to use. It lets me mess with colors a lot easier than using colored pencils, and I can erase without making a huge mess.
- I imported a picture of the Colts logo to use as a guide.
- I started by filling in the horseshoe with a solid white color.
- Then came the tricky part: the rainbow.
I tried a bunch of different brushes and effects. The gradient tool was kind of cool, but it felt a little too…smooth? I wanted something with a bit more texture, you know?
After a lot of trial and error, I found a brush that looked like it had some individual strokes, almost like paint. I started layering the colors, one by one: red, orange, yellow, green, blue, indigo, violet. Just like a real rainbow, but wrapped around a horseshoe.
It took a while to get the colors to blend just right, but not look too muddy. I had to keep adjusting the opacity and size of the brush. I also added some white highlights to make it pop a bit more.
Finally, I stepped back and… yeah, I think I actually like it! It’s definitely not perfect, but it’s got that rainbow vibe I was going for, and it still looks like the Colts logo. Maybe I’ll try printing it out on a sticker or something. Who knows?
So, that’s my little rainbow Colts mascot adventure. It was fun to mess around and try something new. Maybe it’ll inspire someone else to get creative, too!
