Okay, so I’ve been diving deep into the world of Dean Ambrose, or should I say Jon Moxley now, and I wanted to put together a list of what I think are his absolute BEST matches. It’s a tough one because the guy is just so consistently good, but I think I’ve narrowed it down after watching hours of footage. I’ll share the order in the order I watched them and the thoughts that I had while watching them!
First Step: The Initial Binge
First, I started with his earlier stuff, pre-Shield. So I watched some of his stuff in my local area, just to get a feel for his style before he hit the big time. And man it was brutal, hardcore stuff. Not for everyone, but it shows how far he came.
Next: Focusing on WWE
Then, I moved on to his WWE run, obviously. That’s where most of his famous matches are. This is where it gets really good. I needed to watch all the Shield matches, the rivalries with Seth Rollins, the stuff with Triple H, and then the ones with AJ Styles, which everyone raves about.
The Hard Part: Narrowing It Down
This is where it got tricky. I created a watch list and just started working my way through it. So many great matches, it was tough to pick the best. I made some eliminations based on crowd reaction, the story of the match, and just my personal preference. It was hard to eliminate some of them!
Re-watching and Taking Notes
I went back and re-watched some of the contenders, taking notes this time. I’m looking for those little moments, the near falls, the spots that made me jump out of my seat. I’ve jotted down some of the crazier spots and moments from each match I observed.
- Did the match tell a good story?
- Were there any memorable spots?
- How was the crowd reaction?
- Did it have that “big match” feel?
Finalizing the List
Finally, I put my list together. It’s not perfect, and everyone will have their own opinions, but I feel good about it. It’s a mix of his different styles and eras, showing his range as a performer. I think I’ve got a good list that represents his best work.
So that’s my process! It was a lot of fun going back and watching all these matches. It’s a reminder of why I’m a fan of this guy. It’s great!
