Alright, folks, let’s talk about getting that sweet, sweet Trespasser catalyst in Destiny 2. I finally got around to snagging it, and boy, was it a journey. Let me tell you how I went about it.

Step 1: The Quest Itself
First things first, I needed the quest. I headed over to Banshee-44 in the Tower. You know, the gunsmith guy? He’s the one who hands it out. It’s called “No Trespassing,” simple enough, right? I picked it up, no problem.
Step 2: Kill, Kill, Kill
The quest has a few steps, and most of them involve, you guessed it, killing things. Specifically with the Trespasser. So, I equipped that bad boy and got to work.
- I needed to get 50 Guardian kills with it. Crucible time! I’m not the greatest PvP player, so this took a bit. I mostly stuck to Control, figuring that would give me the most opportunities. It was a bit of a grind, but hey, that’s Destiny.
- Then came the PvE part. 100 combatants anywhere, and 50 combatants while precision hits chain lightning. Basically I need to keep the Unrepentant perk active. I found a good lost sector, I think it was one on the EDZ, and just went to town. Headshot, chain lightning, repeat. I was running around and killing like a maniac.
Step 3: Playlist Activities? Seriously?
The last step is where things got, shall we say, tedious. I needed “Calibration Data.” How do you get that? Playlist activities. Strikes, Crucible, Gambit. And it’s not a quick process. Wins and higher-difficulty Nightfalls give you more progress, but I’m a solo player, mostly. So, I just slogged through a bunch of strikes. It felt like it took forever. I queued up, blasted through enemies, prayed for it to end, and repeated. Over and over and over.
Step 4: Finally…The Catalyst
Eventually, after what felt like a million strikes, I finally got enough Calibration Data. I went back to my inventory, slotted the catalyst into the Trespasser, and…boom! Done. The catalyst gives it the “Tunnel Vision” perk, making it even more powerful. All that work, and it was finally mine.
Was it worth it? Honestly, yeah. The Trespasser is a beast with the catalyst. But man, that playlist grind was rough. If you’re going for it, be prepared for a bit of a time commitment. Just put on some music, zone out, and get to shooting. Good luck, Guardians!
