Okay, so today I messed around with “Chy Westbrook.” It’s not a program or anything, just a name I wanted to, like, explore. I started by, you know, just thinking about the name. What kind of person is Chy Westbrook? Where do they live? What do they do?

I grabbed a notebook and started jotting down ideas. First, the name “Chy”… it feels kinda modern, maybe even a little edgy. “Westbrook” sounds, I dunno, established? Maybe a bit preppy? So, I’m picturing someone who’s a mix of these things.
Brainstorming Session
- Possible Occupation: Maybe a graphic designer? Or a musician? Something creative, but with a practical side.
- Location: I was feeling a city vibe, but not, like, New York City. Something smaller, maybe a bit more laid-back. Like, Portland, Oregon, or Austin, Texas.
- Personality: I pictured someone kinda introverted, but with a strong sense of self. Someone who knows what they like and isn’t afraid to be different.
Then I started doing, what I always do. I opened up a new document and just started writing a scene. Just a little snippet of Chy Westbrook’s life. I imagined them sitting in a coffee shop, working on their laptop, maybe sketching something or writing lyrics. I described the coffee shop, the sounds, the smells, the other people around. I tried to get inside Chy’s head, imagining what they were thinking and feeling.
I played around with different scenarios. What if Chy was meeting a friend? What if they were working on a big project? What if they overheard a conversation that sparked an idea?
After that, it was all about refining. I read through what I’d written, making little tweaks here and there. Changing a word, adding a detail, deleting a sentence that didn’t quite fit. It’s like sculpting, you know? You start with a big chunk of clay and slowly chip away at it until you have something that looks like what you imagined.
It is a very interesting pratice and experience for today!
